The Data and Analytics Solution Delivery Center is a new and growing group inside of XL Global Technologies, responsible for implementing innovative predictive models and data mining. Data is vital to analytics. To make sure that we are achieving our potential in this discipline, we need to make certain our data has the right context, granularity, and quality.The Application Developer plays a critical role within the Data and Analytics SDC as this person is responsible for designing and implementing of .Net applications using C#, SQL Server, and Restful Service. DISCOVER your opportunity What will your essential responsibilities include This role will spend the majority of the time focused on external data. This will involve building proper data pipelines to support initial exploration and real-time integration.
• Participating in full life cycle development, including business analysis, systems documentation, coding, unit testing and quality control, deployment, and support.
• Write clean, scalable code using .NET programming languages.
• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code.
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise answers to mitigate and address these issues.
• Delivers and helps to make sure delivery of quality code, thorough unit testing, with fewer defects.
• Follows and makes sure compliance with best practices, coding standards, and policies in software development.
• Assist software personnel in handling project-related work and other requirements.
• Coordinate with other software professionals and developers.
You will report to Application Manager/Principal Data Engineer., * SHARE your talent We re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills: Required Skills and Abilities:
• A couple of years of experience .NET programmer.
• Experience with Web Service Integration (SOAP/WSDL, RESTful HTTP, WCF) and supporting security models (OAUTH).
• Robust SQL Skills required.
• Experience in development using data development / Analysis tools.
• .NET/ Microsoft (SSIS, SSAS) preferred.
• Familiarity with developer support tools (TFS/GIT, Jenkins) a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to work through data complexities which include a variety of sources, formats, and structures robust preference for experience in the Insurance domain.
• Ability to see through ambiguous concepts, break down complex problems into manageable components.
• Detail-orientated, proven ability to recognize patterns in data.
• Possesses natural curiosity. Seek to understand the world around you, and question when appropriate.
• Azure cloud experience is a plus.
• College Degree in MIS, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or equivalent.
