Job Description

Assistant Manager, DesignWhat this job involves:The Assistant Manager Design will supervise a team of 10-12 designers and oversee the creation of designs, concepts and layouts. The job of graphic designing requires special skills and abilities to create visual presentations or imagery with the aim of communicating a message to the target audience. Design manager responsibilities include a list of supervising and executing activities including creation of computer graphics, web page graphics, logos, illustrations, advertisements, brochures and many other forms of visual communication.The candidate will work closely with the Marketing teams across globe to support different business/service lines. He/she must understand the strategy, audience and objectives behind complex design projects, provide appropriate solutions with minimal art direction and work with a variety of team contributors including marketers and various levels of management. Also responsible for the timely, cost-effective and high-quality delivery of design and digital projects and materials across regions, acting as traffic manager for work briefed into the team from across the global organisation. Identifies trends and assess opportunities to improve processes and execution.The goal is to inspire and attract the target audience.Sound like you

  • Create and maintain high-quality visual content for company brand in both digital and print communications, including, but not limited to brochures, flyers, infographics, social media, web graphics, logos, emailers, event materials, and posters.
  • Gather all relevant facts for each project and ensure that all deliverables communicate the correct information.
  • Generate clear ideas, concepts, and designs of creative assets from beginning to end.
  • Work collaboratively with other designers to ensure a consistent, integrated brand perception.
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team that includes marketers, art directors, and design managers in order to create compelling designs
  • Translate information about the business and stakeholders into designs that are visually enticing, easy to understand, and emotionally impactful.
  • Manage incoming service requests to the team, supported by the production coordinator, and schedule these and assign resources accordingly
  • Work with internal teams and third parties to ensure that all aspects of projects are delivered accurately and to required deadlines
  • Manage projects and ensure producers manage projects to agreed scopes and timescales, including integrated projects where digital, print, events, media and social media components all require coordination and cohesion
  • Oversee project design and production, reporting any potential disputes, changing requirements or delays in a timely manner, and reviewing project performance
  • Must have a superior understanding of the fundamental concepts of print and web publishing and graphic design principles.
  • Stay on top of the latest standards, processes, and trends in the visual design field.
  • The ability to receive, interpret, and implement constructive feedback from project stakeholders into your design work.
  • You have a team-oriented attitude and ability to contribute to design- and functionality- related marketing decisions
  • Strong work ethics: Takes initiative and can self-manage. Resourceful when approaching projects, can navigate through obstacles to bring projects to fruition, and can effectively multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
To apply you need to be:
  • Bachelor s in any disciple or graphic design field with a significant equivalent experience.
  • Have 8 to 12 years of relevant experience.
  • Supervise and lead the graphic designing team.
  • Stay on top of the latest standards, processes, and trends in the visual design field.
  • You have the ability to work independently and under deadline pressure on several projects simultaneously
  • A high level of proficiency using Adobe Suite including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop along with the good knowledge of PowerPoint, Word, Outlook and Excel. Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to clearly explain design decisions in words and writing.
  • Demonstrable ability to work proactively and autonomously and be accountable for own decisions
  • Ability to work confidently with internal stakeholders and external suppliers at all levels and with different personality types; influencing and negotiating skills
  • Positive, demonstrable people management skills
  • Experience of project and resource planning, project reporting, and people management
