It may not be for every role, and, as part of the recruitment process, you ll have the chance to discuss smart working and how it might work for the job you are applying for.About this roleThis role is to support existing automations ensuring business as usual as well as developing enhancements for intelligent automations across GBS within BT ensuring that we continue to grow our business whilst increasing our right first time and keeping our cost base down.Working with the business across BT you will be supporting the automation of key BT processes and ensuring that critical processes are maintained.Youll have the following responsibilitiesAutomation application support - An exciting opportunity to lead on work in automation support team within BT, the role involves the leading of teams to ensure business continuity for the existing automations, tracking of faults, enhancements and ensuring stakeholders are regularly appraised of status and progress of live issues.Although support is the primary responsibility you will also lead on driving automation improvement initiatives to increase customer satisfaction, increase revenues and decrease costs and defining the standards across our automation capability, keeping up to date with BT Security policies and work in a way that ensures compliance, data protection by design.Work with the business - You will represent GBS by working closely with SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) to identify business processes for automation and work end to end solutions covering requirements gathering, design, development , UAT, deployment and maintenance with the support of the team and SMEs. You will plan and track of deliverables and ensure stakeholders are regularly appraised of status and progress throughout.Learning new technologies In a fast moving technology space you will have the opportunity to use your experience in automation to learn new intelligent automation technologies then taking this knowledge you will train the new capabilities out to your team, defining GBSs automation strategy going forward.Support our growth - You will lead on evolving our service to ensure we excel in meeting requirements, KPI s, and customer satisfaction, through the maintenance of our live automations and leadership in taking forward ideas. You will also be supporting the delivery of new solutions including future technologies (AI etc) which may include managing third party vendors.Youll have the following skills & experienceSkills:Customer Engagement/ Business AnalysisFault finding and resolutionDelivering automationsIn depth understanding of delivering configuration/scripting type technologies required for GBS.Leading the design, delivery, testing and support of software/ processesAptitude for problem solving and logical thinkingTeam coach supporting and assisting the development of other in the team.Preferred skills:Microsoft Technologies (.Net)Web Application DevelopmentExcel Macro / Access (VBA)Support of database applications built in SQL Server or Oracle.Experience:Experience with leading a team in support of the delivery and maintenance of automations.Experience and knowledge of and project management in a structured environmentAn understanding of, and a willingness to adhere to, formal change control procedures and disciplines.Ability to liaise with senior level stakeholder representatives in a rational and measured Eligibility Criteria
