Job Description

    Biomedical Equipment Technicians, also referred to as Medical Equipment Repairers, troubleshoot, install, and maintain medical devices that are used in patient treatment and diagnosis. Resumes in this field highlight such responsibilities as performed preventative maintenance, repair, and calibration; performed troubleshooting on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems all the way down to the component level; and interpreted multi-page schematics, mechanical drawings, and manufacturers literature. Sample resumes indicate that the majority of Biomedical Equipment Technicians hold at least an associates degree in biomedical technology, although a bachelors degree may be needed to advance ones career.
