IP & Optical Networks RBC UnitNetwork Services Platform (NSP) Solution ArchitectThe Regional Business Unit s Customer Engineering team provides Services in support of real-world deployments of advanced Solutions across the IP/Optical Networks (ION) Business Line product portfolio. POSITION DESCRIPTIONThe team is seeking a highly skilled Network Services Platform Solution Architect to provide customer services to Nokia s customer base. The candidate in this role will be required to work in a consultative manner directly with Customers, Project Managers, Sales Engineers to deliver projects which include the following responsibilities:

• Provide NMS Solution Architecture leadership for ION led projects
• Provide NSP consultation workshops to Customers to enhance their experience of the product by leveraging the powerful features of Nokia s leading-edge Carrier SDN platform
• Provide guidance on NSP Application configuration and utilization based on project requirements and best practices
• Author HLD/LLD design, configuration, operational or test documentation as required for the project
• Provide guidance on NSP Integration with third party OSS and other Nokia Network Management Systems
• Provide northbound API expertise and consultation
• Develop and keep up to date consultation workshop material and design document templates
• Work closely with the global team and with Product Line Management to enhance professional services delivery, best practices and the overall customer experience
• The work can frequently be at customer premises for short durations of time (1 week typical), travel is a requirement for this position

EDUCATIONBachelors degree or higher in Computer Science, Telecom, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.IP, Virtualization, SDN and OSS training / certification is an asset.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSThe successful candidate will have strong technical, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills as well as being energetic, results oriented and will have knowledge and experience with some or all the following areas:

• Experience in consulting and providing professional services directly to external Customers
• Experienced in designing, deploying distributed/highly-available applications and systems
• Advanced knowledge of Network Management Systems concepts and protocols such as FCAPS, PCEP, NETCONF YANG, OpenFlow, SNMP, HTTP SOAP, JMS, REST
• Experience using Linux/Unix operating systems, databases technologies (Oracle, MySQL, PostGRE etc)
• Strong knowledge of IP/MPLS Network Management and protocols: IPv4 and IPv6, BGP, ISIS, OSPF, MPLS RSVP-TE, LDP, etc., L2/L3 VPN, QoS, Security
• Knowledge of Optical Transport Networking: WDM, OTN, gMPLS, Add-Drop Multiplexing
• Knowledge of Software Defined Networking, SD-WAN, SDN Automation
• Experience with Service Assurance, OAM Testing & Reporting
• Knowledge of Big Data/Analytics concepts is an asset
• Knowledge of Virtualized Network Functions and Cloud Computing concepts and platforms such as OpenStack, VMWare, and hypervisor technology (KVM, ESXi)
• Software development educational background & experience: Object Oriented Design and Analysis, Java programming language, Perl, Python, Velocity Template Language, Javascript, JMS, C++ Programming, JBoss application server, Internet based applications using XML, HTTP/s, SOAP, RESTful, Ansible
• Multi-vendor OSS integration experience

Job Responsibilities:

• Act as consultant to Nokia customer in the area of Carrier SDN
• Install, upgrade , commission WAN SDN and EMS modules
• Integrate the several modules with the network elements
• Carry out POCs and tests for Nokia customer
• Gather customer requirement and transform them into workshop
• Work in tandem with the back end team to deliver the best-in-class design document
• Develop and validate MOPs
• Working under minimal supervision
• Answer to customer questions inherent to the SDN Nokia product
• Liaise with pre-sales for feature request and/or new opportunities
• Occasionally he might be requested to carry out night activities
• Update design documents whenever needed
• Work together with TPM during the development phase to carry out Acceptance Test Job Requirements:

• At least 3 years of experience in Carrier SDN
• At least 3 years of experience in networking
• At least 4 years of experience in programming, scripting or modeling
• Experience in databases and data modeling such as XML and JSON, RESTful API
• Familiar with Carrier SDN concepts
• Past experience in handling EMS/NSM systems in large service providers would be an advantage
• Knowledge of SNMP protocols and in general southbound EMS to NE communication protocols
• Preferably knowledge of the latest technologies such as Segment Routing, BGP-LS and PCEP protocols
• Good to have a conceptual understanding of L3 and L2 MPLS services
• Good analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Good communicator and able to deliver complex concepts in simple manner
• Able to talk to different type of audience (technical and non-technical)
