About the opportunityDepartment DescriptionGeneral Counsel: General Counsel (GC) is a trusted advisor to all parts of FIL, providing high-value independent advisory and assurance expertise through our specialist teams. GC comprises of Legal, Risk, Compliance, Tax, Public Policy & Strategic Relationship Management.GC Shared Services:The General Counsel Shared Services function is a global centre of expertise currently being built out in Dalian and India. It will provide operational support and services to the General Counsel function.Purpose of your roleThis role is placed in the Reporting & Systems vertical within GC Shared Services and reports into Lead - Reporting & Systems. The role will be working as part of an expanding reporting vertical within GC Shared Services, partnering with businesses and key stakeholders across FIL locations to deliver the desired business outcomes. This role will also be responsible for end-end project management and process improvement of the current processes to create efficiencies.Key Responsibilities

  • Work on opportunities to take on reporting related work from its initial conceptual stages before formal rollout
  • Leverage best practices in the Industry / FIL to make necessary improvements in reporting related processes
  • Perform end-end re-engineering of reporting processes to bring in process efficacies and efficiencies
  • Work with the System Management team to streamline existing reporting
  • Work closely in alignment with existing Data frameworks to ensure data governance
  • Create and maintain a framework by which helps the Reporting vertical deliver accurate and timely outcomes
Experience and Educational Qualifications
  • At least 13-16 years overall experience preferably in Financial Service or Management Consulting industry with exposure to change / transformation programs
  • Graduation (must), preferably in Engineering, Commerce or Economics
  • MBA or equivalent qualification (must)
Essential Skills
  • Proven experience in successful management of small, medium and large projects/ transitions
  • Analytical approach and problem-solving skills - ability to analyse data (qualitative & quantitative) and generate improvement hypotheses
  • Proven track record for bringing in process efficiencies and efficacies using automation and lean methodology
  • High degree of proficiency in MS Power Point including ability to develop clear, concise & compelling story lines for senior management from scratch and without guidance
  • High degree of proficiency in MS excel ((strong knowledge of pivot tables, data sorting, filters, etc). Ability to develop complex models and data structures, including macros, will be of advantage
  • Experience of using process mapping tools (e.g. Visio)
  • Experience of working on Data Management tools like Collibra will be an advantage
  • Experience of creating and assembling relevant training materials
  • Experience of working with cross cultural teams across the globe in a project-based environment
  • Ability to work with stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to influence without authority, to successfully challenge consensus and think independently
  • High degree of comfort in working with ambiguity and under pressure, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks
  • High level of attention to detail yet also able to see the big picture
  • Self-motivated with an eagerness to learn and a positive work ethic

  • Collaborative operating style with a focus on working together with others to achieve great outcomes for the business as well as recognition for all those contributing to the team s success.
Desirable Skills
  • Should have a working knowledge of visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau. Higher proficiency in these tools will be an added advantage
  • Experience of working/ building a reporting function would be an advantage
  • Experience of the asset management industry would be an advantage
  • Experience based domain knowledge of General Counsel functions (Risk/ Compliance) would be an advantage
  • Focussed on providing high level customer service
