Job Description

Expedia Software Development Engineer IAt Expedia our mission is to revolutionize travel through the power of technology. Our E-Commerce Checkout team is looking for an experienced, energetic and self-motivated Engineering Manager to help us do just that.Sitting at the sharp end of the conversion funnel our Checkout platform processes millions of bookings a week from customers across the globe using any one of our 40 localized websites or our award-winning mobile app. It s an exciting time to join the team as we re setting about building the next generation of our platform using modern frameworks such as GraphQL and microservices-based architecture.Join us and you ll be helping build a best in class customer-facing web application, solving hard problems at scale and part of mission-critical software with a direct impact on the bottom line.   • Proficiency in Java or other Object Oriented Language
  • Write high-performance, reusable code for UI and backend components
  • Write unit, automation and integration tests
  • Implement quality application logging for operational monitoring at scale
  • Investigate, debug and resolve production site issues
  • Work with co-located and geographically distributed teammates to deliver on common goals
  • Experience working with AWS/Cloud infrastructure, NoSQL databases will be a plus
  • Actively contribute to planning and design discussions with the team
  • Work closely with product managers, UX, and developers to deliver a high quality experience to the user
Who are you:
  • 0 - 2 years of software development experience
  • Strong technical proficiency in object-oriented design
  • Deep understanding of software design principles, algorithms, and data structures
