Department overview As a market leader in the provision of illiquid portfolio pricing valuation services, our Private Equity professionals assist clients in the post-trade valuation of alternative investments, specifically for debt and equity positions for which there are no active market quotations available.
Position summary The Private Equity Senior Analyst will provide range of valuation services specifically to the alternative investment community including private equity and hedge funds, banks, institutional investors and fund administrators, in connection with provision of post-trade valuations for their alternative investment positions.
Duties & accountabilities The Senior Analyst duties include: Managing team of analysts to prepare valuations and overseeing their work before final delivery to clients Working with senior management to build and maintain client relationships Expert in valuation best practice including IPEV and AICPA guidelines Reporting and presenting analyses and conclusions including written reports, and handling valuation queries from clients Analysing client requirements and delivering detailed service specifications to prospective clients for valuation and review services
Business competencies Education and experience Qualified accountant or MBA-Finance and CFA charterholder, minimum 7 years Valuation Experience Private Equity Preferably Solid experience of constructing and reviewing valuation models and other financial models including: DCF, comparable company, commodity contracts / forecasts, and other intangible asset models Experience of managing delivery of valuations and provision of responses to price challenges Knowledge of software packages including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Knowledge of financial data packages including Bloomberg, Capital IQ, or FactSet Commercial awareness Experience of building and maintaining client relationships, team management Knowledge of the budget process and the ability to create a staffing forecast for a specified level of demand Management requirements Experience in managing teams to deliver results efficiently, accurately and to schedule Ability to coordinate internal tasks across a variety of functions Personal competencies Personal impact Exceptional energy, drive and stamina Flexible and able to adapt to changing situations Strong influential skills Communication Strong analytical and problem solving skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong presentation and client engagement skills Teamwork Strong team player comfortable working at all levels of the business
