It is a newly formed business group, that includes most of the former Nokia Software business, Nokia s enterprise solutions, core network solutions including both voice and packet core, and managed and advanced services from its former Global Services unit. This unit will also act as a delivery channel of certain products from other business groups to enterprise customers. Cloud and Network Services (CNS) will target growth by leveraging the industry transition to cloud-based delivery, network-as-a-service business models, and software-led value creation.As Nokias growth engine, we create value for communication service providers and enterprise customers by leading the transition to cloud-native software and as-a-service delivery models. Our inclusive team of dreamers, doers and disruptors push the limits from impossible to possible.The Nokia CNS Market Services team seeks an individual to develop and test custom features on Nokia Convergent Charging (NCC) for customers in North America. The custom features developed by this team will be merged with the generally available NCC product to augment the Charging functionality to conform with customized customer requirements.What you will learn and contribute to The CNS NAM LDO is seeking a Senior Software Developer to develop and test custom Online Charging features on the NCC product for NAM customers. The team will be located in Austin, Texas USA and Gurgaon, India. Each member will be part of a scrum team responsible for developing and testing custom features and then merging/integrating features with the generally available NCC product.As part of our team, you will:
• Collaborate with the customer to align on features requirements
• Design features that fulfill requirements and define use cases that will be tested to validate custom features
• Work within the agile development sprint team to complete all phases including plan work, design, code, unit test, automate Junits, analyze/fix defects, functional test, and integration test.
• Participate in 4LS support activities to address any deficiencies that are discovered in custom features deployed in customer environments.
• Provide feature demo and customer training materials to equip customers on how to operate NCC with new custom features.
Your skills and experience Candidates must have:
• Computer Science or Engineering Degree - Bachelor s or Master s degree (Telecom/Computers/IT) with at least 5 years of relevant experience
• Strong Java skills, preferable with J2EE application server environment
• Web Services (REST, SOAP, XML)
• Data Structures and Algorithms
• Knowledge of Java Design patterns and Java Frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of data modelling techniques
• Ability to Design and code for scalability
• Good hands-on with Linux OS-based systems
• Strong debugging skills on IDE like Eclipse or IntelliJ
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently when required along with reporting accurate and timely status reports
• Flexible and proactive/self-motivated working style with ability to multi-task under pressure
Ideal Candidates may also have:
• Charging concepts and development experience: LTE, 3GPP architecture, Real time charging systems, 5G and IOT use cases
• Prior work experience on SPS, SurePay, NOKIA 5780 DSC and/or any competitive Charging product
• DB experience preferably NoSQL based DB
• Experience with Diameter/4G interfaces (mainly base protocol, Gy, Sy, and Ro interfaces)
• Knowledge of 5G interfaces (mainly NCHF - N40, N28)
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTP2, HTTPS
• Virtualization/Cloud experience.
• Web Technologies (HTML, Javascript, JQuery)
• Multi-tiered/Full-stack application development experience: OS, Platform, Front end, Back end, DB, Network
• Experience in Agile/scaled Agile scrum teams
• Scripting (bash, Python)
• Knowledge of Maven, Ant or Gradle Scripts
• Version Management and Collaboration tools like Git, Gerrit, Jira, Confluence, SharePoint
• Experience and knowledge of DevOps concepts, CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins.
• Experience with automation frameworks like Robot.
• Exposure to Microservices, Docker, Containers, Kubernetes, and related areas.
