Job Description

Delivering insightful and original market , product or company analysis in quantitative (databases , models) and qualitative (profiles , presentations , reports) form to publishable standards. Researching markets using both systematic and intuitive secondary research techniques Developing quantitative materials including modeling and forecasting data on the basis of qualitative and quantitative factors.Developing written materials ensuring flow , structure and grammar are of publishable standards. Using Microsoft office tools including Excel , Word and PowerPoint. Playing a key support role in developing team products , processes and content. Utilizing industry knowledge and market analysis skill sets to transfer knowledge to team members both in terms of skills and industry knowledge. Communicating regularly with other team members in both formal presentations and informal on - the - job training. Checking and editing team member s work , ensuring that it is of publishable standards. Feeding back to team members constructively on their work. Following internal processes and policies including HR , Finance and IT. Managing and tracking timelines to ensure timely delivery. Interacting confidently with clients , showing market knowledge and understanding. Person Specification: Eagerness to Learn: Showing strong awareness of the major issues across the industry and having a detailed knowledge of specialist areas , that is kept constantly refreshed Communication Skills - Oral: Communicating effectively with managers to give updates and inputs. Playing a leading role in communication with team members for knowledge sharing and support. Having a confident and engaging presentation style Problem Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills and the ability to think independently to effectively , being strong at intelligent estimation and insightful and original analysis Leadership Qualities: Leading by example through strong performance and supporting and helping team members through on the job and formal training Industry experience or background: Experience in research industry , or a period of work in the mining / oil & gas will be a major advantage. Degree in Mining , or oil & gas will be useful. Market analysis / consultancy experience: 2 - 3 years relevant work experience in a market analysis , consultancy , internal research or trade journalism role. Secondary Research skills: Having the ability to use online and other secondary research materials quickly and effectively , searching both systematically and intuitively to deliver optimum results Quantitative skills - modeling , numerical reasoning: Having expertise in modeling and forecast , using regression techniques where possible as well as integrating macroeconomic and qualitative factors Showing strong attention to detail and the ability to verify and sanity check large amounts of data quickly. Communication skills written: Having strong written English including the ability to structure written work for meaning and flow. Being able to produce work with a minimum of grammatical and expression errors and the ability to follow company style effectively with good attention to detail. Excel: Strong knowledge of excel , to a high level , including understanding of techniques such as v - look ups and pivot tables. Knowledge of visual basic and macros is an advantage. Confident and quick use of short - cut keys. Word: Good knowledge of Microsoft Word including using short cuts. PowerPoint: Confident at using PowerPoint techniques and shortcuts to produce quick and effective presentations. Quantitative , Excel and data modeling skills are particularly important for roles in this team. Quick and accurate production of written material is particularly important for roles in this team.,
