Job Description

The TRON team is an initiative which partners with the Amazon Robotics team to remotely handle exceptions in the Amazon Robotic Fulfillment Centers in North America. The TRON technology enables the human supervisory control of automated tasks. In the TRON system, a remote associate provides supervisory control when automated tasks fail for any reason. This allows us to avoid falling into the 90/10 trap where a task can be 90% automated but requires 90% of the time for the last 10% of functionality. Our strategy is to employ a human-as-sensor model and allow humans to perform just those portions of a task that require higher order cognitive ability.TRON is looking for a motivated individual with strong skills and experience in analytics, technology, and forecasting and demand planner to join the AVOC Workforce team. In this position you will be responsible for supporting our sites to build complex forecasting processes for the rapidly expanding TRON team. The role requires the ability to work with a variety of key stakeholders across job functions on a multiple site level.We are looking for an exceptional an entrepreneurial and analytical forecasting and demand planner, who is passionate about their work, understands how to manage calls across a network of contact centers, and who is willing to move fast and experiment often.Responsibilities include: Develop demand forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of a demand planning function. Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results. Coordinate cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances, refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions, and reduce forecast model variance. Interact with the various stakeholders to understand demand forecast drivers. Utilize a collaborative approach to obtain and ensure that current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts.A successful candidate will embody the following: Communicate ideas concisely to a wide variety of stakeholders for purposes ranging from informative to need for financial approvals from executives. Willing to get your hands dirty in a start-up environment while simultaneously developing processes, automation, and delivering results Clearly define data requirements and metrics, working with teams to implement the entire data flow from capture to presentation and management High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously, Bachelor s degree in statistics, engineering, mathematics, or economics from an accredited university or 2+ years Amazon experience Experience conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis Experience with resource capacity planning/workforce management Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel is required Capacity planning & forecasting experience as well as experience with working cross functionally with business intelligence and analytics teams Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously Experience with making large scale optimization and predictive models 3 5 years of work experience with capacity planning/workforce management software Prior experience or use of Lean/Six Intermediate to advanced knowledge of SQL, Perl, Unix/Linux, Visual Basic or other programming languages are a plus Excellent written and verbal communication skills complemented with the ability to problem solve independently
