The DOS Network Engineer will be responsible for identifying and mitigating denial of service attacks against critical infrastructure services as well as attacks against external customers. The Engineer must have experience in responding to denial of service attacks, identifying traffic anomalies, and devising filtering strategies in real time. Must have experience in various networking and security technologies and be able to communicate with customers. The DOS Network Engineer will be responsible for consulting with customers over complex designs, answering various configuration setup questions, and provisioning customer traffic monitoring using various flow technologies on multiple routing platforms including: Cisco and Juniper, as well as various flow analysis platforms including Arbor Networks. 1. Responsibilities include a wide range of activities surrounding Tier 2 Tier 3 support of DOS Detection and Mitigation Services.
2. Duties include support of the product to include; installation of new customers, ensuring customer configurations are up to date, assisting the customer in DOS attack situations in real time, and modifying mitigation configurations when necessary. Duties also include configuration changes and monitoring. Will directly interact with customers on high visibility and complex technical issues to meet and support SLAs. 3. The Network Engineer must have exceptional problem solving and multi-tasking skills are essential. The candidate must have the ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, while effectively managing priorities. 4. A thorough understanding of the TCPIP protocol suite. 5. A thorough understanding of BGP, GRE, MPLS, and internetworking. 6. Hands-on experience with DoSDDoS detection, analysis and mitigation, attention to detail and the ability to provide oral and written communication to customers, peers, and management. 7. Must be able to work independently and collaboratively and demonstrate critical thinkingproblem solving skills. 8. Working knowledge of botnets, operational experience of DNS. Operational familiarity with Arbor Networks Peakflow SP and TMS systems, firewall policies or router ACLs.
