Job Description

- Build Integrated Procurement CapabilitiesA1. STRATEGIC PROCESSES- Conceptualize, design and implement a procurement strategy in line with business requirements to deliver maximum value across annual spend on procurement, maintaining optimal inventory levels while also delivering year over year cost reductions - Formulate a policy to ensure material planning for timely procurement; thereby resulting in smooth execution of projects and production Design a system to verify the requirements from the Project / Site facilities and plan procurement of materials for on time delivery - Formulate budgets for timely procurement of materials to ensure smooth execution of projects - Design and implement integrated development systems to formulate and deploy procedures governing all aspects of timely availability of A Class / B Class and C Class materials (PO to GRN) with lowest lead time and getting best possible payment terms Actively engage with key internal stakeholders in the strategic planning process to establish critical near-term and long-term objectives for sourcing & procurement - Establish and maintain measurable performance metrics for all levels of procurement activities to include but not limited to: supplier performance, supplier quality, internal order placement performance, buyer activity levels, financial performance, inventory levels, cost benefits, material availability etc. A2. COST- Effective negotiation with vendors and partners on purchase agreements and vendor contracts to ensure procurement happens within the approved budget focusing on quality, delivery, cost containment and process improvement Responsible for identifying and managing sourcing strategy as well as transitioning from high cost to low-cost sources. Ensure cost competitiveness & cost leadership position within industry - Participate in New Product Development and Design Change - Leverage technology solutions to maximize effectiveness and efficiency of the strategic sourcing process, e.g. portal for procurement, usage of SAP modules on procurement, logistics, vendor management etc. - Conduct periodic market studies to validate rates of various products / materials to achieve most competitive rates and feasible payment terms - Analyze market and delivery systems in order to assess present and future material availability - Have a clear understanding of the processes related to imports, customs, exports & taxation. Put in place a mechanism to be constantly updated on changes and also impart training to relevant team members on the same - Focus on developing a knowledge repository in the procurement function to reduce person specific dependencies - Regular interface with Engineering functions to understand the future product strategy of Ramky. Accordingly plan the sourcing strategy well in advance to meet the specified timelines to enable Ramky to gain competitive advantage in the market - Ensure availability of lifetime service spares requirement A3. SERVICES- Design a robust process for Services procurement to ensure timely availability to carry out the services as required for successful completion of projects, manufacturing and OMS, conducting vendor development, developing a system to measure vendor performance, effective negotiation leading to cost leadership position within industry - including but not limited to- Logistics service (air, rail, road & sea logistics putting in place processes to ensure timely availability of required vehicles/vessels and/or timely booking of cargo for transport - Civil work service - Mechanical work service - Electrical work service - Hiring of various machinery viz excavator, crane etc. hiring A4. STORES MANAGEMENT- Establish procedures for Inventory management and Stores management for meeting demand and to keep operations running- Responsible for designing processes to ensure safety norms are being adhered to in the entire process of procurement especially logistics - Responsible for sales of unwanted inventory including scrap disposal A5. VENDOR MANAGEMENT- Develop long-term partnerships, sustainable global vendor relationships and monitoring vendor performance to ensure adherence to SLAs - Design systems for vendor development with focus to reduce cost of procurement and new product development and drive increased sourcing from low cost sources - Put in place a system to capitalize on strategic opportunities with global and local suppliers in order to gain warranty recovery / chargeback from global and local suppliers - Develop an overall vendor base globally which creates and sustains a competitive advantage, utilizing global market exploitation to leverage spend - Put in place processes to provide technical & commercial support especially to new vendors BenefitsWorking with one of the biggest organizations in Waste Management Industry.Client IntroductionOne of the biggest players in waste management services.
