Job Description

  • Supporting Alstom bid teams to create maintenance strategies for new or existing contracts that optimise whole life maintenance costs. Developing those strategies into bid concepts, working with Alstom design and maintenance teams and OEMs were applicable;
  • Ensuring that the maintenance costs is accurate and properly justified to the standard required by the AT Blue Book Process;
  • Following ILS and LCC standards for Bids and Projects;
  • Providing inputs such and Spares parts List and Special tools list;
  • Working with procurement team to get spares and special tools cost during Bids phase;
  • Preparing ATOC as required by supplier during BID;
  • Preparing .CON module in DOORS and propagating it to relevant BB;
  • Review supplier BLESS (life cycle costs) submissions, maintenance schedules and maintenance manuals to ensure an aligned and optimized maintenance regime is created for new build projects;
  • Work alongside system engineers and RAMS teams to ensure Alstom identified maintenance tasks are appropriate and meet life cycle cost and maintenance needs In Engineering and Fleet;
  • Work alongside system engineers and Suppliers to review CDRL and 3D review of each system with respect to Maintenance task in BLESS and accessibility of each Maintenance task till DDR phase;
  • Work alongside system engineers and PI team to Optimise spares, special tools, Test equipment list with respect to cost and quantity;
  • Work alongside system engineers and Suppliers to Validate CDRL and 3D review of each system with respect to Maintenance task in BLESS and accessibility of each Maintenance task during First Article Inspection;
  • Input into the engineering and fleet modification process ensuring maintenance costs and fleet reliability is protected or enhanced. Provide input to any fleet standardization initiatives as required;
  • Undertake Maintenance Optimization activity, using existing processors to achieve enhanced fleet asset performance without compromise to train reliability and safety or compromise to occupational safety;
  • Support the development and introduction of new optimization techniques and strategies such a predictive maintenance, CBM etc. Provide coaching and governance support to other Maintenance Optimization practitioners, both within Central Engineering and the Fleet management project teams. Authorities and mandate (List what decisions the person holding this positions are authorized to make);
  • Health and Safety of LCC & Maintainability team within the respective Product Engine, Financial responsibility for LCC & Maintainability on design site, and the nominated satellite sites;
  • Implementation of LCC & Maintainability strategy, Capability development for Fleet Support;
  • Achieving project and function KPI.
