Job Description

What you ll be doing :

In this role you ll be responsible for enterprise-wide WebSphere MQ messaging infrastructure across distributed platforms, including UNIX (AIX and Linux), Windows, and WebSphere MQ Administration (V8.x above) on distributed platforms (AIX, Linux, and Windows).

Primary responsibilities associated with the position include:

  • Maintaining and supporting a large number of medium-enterprise systems, problem resolution for a middleware integration environment, installing, configuring, and deploying WebSphere MQ and MQ software products.
  • Monitoring and auditing virtual/hardware resources, security, operating system, service logs, and metrics for performance issues using centralized tools.
  • Responsibility for the administration and management of MQ Clusters and MQ Publish/Subscribe.
  • Performing strategic analysis and designing MQ infrastructure and making recommendations on improvements and/or new systems required to meet business needs and future capacity.
  • Writing UNIX Shell Scripts and Ansible scripts to automate System Admin jobs.
  • Developing in-depth security architecture standards, frameworks and design patterns.
  • Implementing vendor-provided fixes for defects, performance enhancements or security related issues.
  • Secure Configuration review and implementation.
  • Understanding the requirements and building positive work culture with onshore-offshore.
  • Adhering to the organization priorities and policies.

You will need to have

  • Bachelor s degree or one or more years of work experience.
  • Experience with Linux/UNIX Systems in a large-scale corporate environment administering the installed Middleware products regardless of platform.
  • Knowledge of relevant concepts (e.g., Load Balancing, Application/JVM Tuning, and multi-tiered architectures).
  • Knowledge of security concepts, best practices, and implementation within a middleware environment.
  • Experience adhering to IT Security best practices.
  • Experience diagnosing issues related to IBM MQ queue managers.
  • Experience with various scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Python, Ansible).
  • Experience with enterprise solutions architecture, enterprise middleware engineering, and DevOps framework.

Even better if you have:

  • A Master s degree.
  • Two or more years of relevant work experience.
  • AWS certifications.
  • Direct experience with Oracle MQ.
