Job Description

ABB s Electrification business is a leading provider of a full range of protection, control and measurement solutions - enabling safer and smarter electricity flow from substation to the point of consumption. We deliver products and systems designed to connect, protect and control electrical systems, ensuring reliability, efficiency and safety for equipment and personnel.This is a R&D Project Manager role, reporting to Senior R&D Project Manager in Business Area Electrification (EL) located in Hyderabad and will be responsible for developing or creating products, systems, services or technologies for ABB s Business Units by leading and managing the execution of one or more R&D projects to meet project targets. You will be also responsible for coordinating work of local and cross-functional project teams, leading in partnership with local business managers, steering groups, product management and external parties and ensuring value creation.Your responsibilities

  • Leading local and cross-functional projects with limited complexity and sub-project of a complex project as responsible for all elements of the projects.
  • Motivating and leading internal and external resources to accomplish all tasks and milestones.
  • Managing the project team allocated to the project, defining, with key stakeholders, the scope of work, cost/budget, resources required, time schedule and detailed work allocation.
  • Monitoring and controlling project cost and financials, formalizing acceptance of the project and brings all the project elements to a conclusion.
  • Ensuring project results are transferred to relevant line organization or department responsible.
  • Ensuring project follows sound methodology and execution practices in accordance with standard ABB internal directives and procedures, ensuring projects follow external standards etc. that influence activities and targets.
  • Managing relationships with stakeholders, internal functions other R&D teams in Technology Center and Corporate Research Centers and external relevant parties.
  • Living ABB s core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.
Your background
  • B.E./ B.Tech in electrical engineering.
  • Minimum 8-12 years of experience in Project Management.
  • Good in value engineering process.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing production process (Plastic Injection Molding ,Sheet Metal ,Tooling ,Castings and Forgings).
  • Strong organization and analytical competencies.
  • Ability to work with and support cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication skills.
