OVERVIEW:

The Cloud Hosting Business Intelligence team provides comprehensive awareness, correlation and analysis of technical and business events, performance, and capacity management as well as other key business metrics in order to maximize business value creation and optimize the end user experience. The Cloud Hosting Business Intelligence team s service offerings and analysis enable the organization to be proactive in managing end user experience and customer relationships in a way that creates value and enables customer satisfaction.

The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst drives forward business value creation based on the Splunk Analytics platform within the SumTotal Cloud Hosting (SaaS) environment. The role involves engaging with members of all business units, identifying, and integrating data sources into the Splunk platform as well as providing the necessary correlation, analytics and machine learning analysis to meet business objectives. This resource will serve as a Principal Splunk developer, assisting other members in support of SumTotal s BI initiatives.

This resource should be a splunk developer with data science experience and a firm understanding of infrastructure technologies.

OPPORTUNITY HIGHLIGHTS:

• Serve as a BI team lead in the Hyderabad office, providing guidance and instruction where needed to accomplish the BI team objectives

• Map business needs and demands into Splunk dashboard requirements

• Partners and works with the business and external vendors to ascertain and plan the proposed solutions/dashboards to meet and achieve the identified and agreed objectives

• The role conducts consultative questioning, influence management and critical thinking skills to understand a current directive and identify and design viable engineering solutions that are both cost effective and supporting the value to the business

• Build Splunk apps as necessary leveraging python and other Splunk friendly languages for app development in support of integrating various data sources

• Build dashboards from a multitude of data sources being ingested into Splunk using the Splunk query language

• Build dashboards leveraging existing machine learning models as well as creating new ones as needed

• Work with Infrastructure, Applications and Engineering teams to integrate systems and applications into Splunk effectively

SKILLS QUALIFICATIONS:

• Customer service orientation

• Excellent communication skills and experience in driving cross department initiatives to obtain organizational objectives

• Excellent knowledge of Splunk (Splunk for Analytics and Data Science Certified)

• Significant Data Analytic skills (Business Analytic skills)

• Relevant technical and delivery experience within, or working as a consultant/advisor to organizations

• Experience in building AI and Machine learning models

• Experience in building models in R, C++, Java or Python programming languages and libraries.

• Strong communication, presentation and business and technical writing skills

• The ability to provide excellent customer service as well as manage and build strong relationships both internally and externally

• Strong interest in further developing and integrating operations with technology in business value creating ways

• Awareness of emerging issues, including regulations, industry practices and technology

• Education, Training and Minimum Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

• 3+ years performing data analytics and correlation

• 3+ years working with machine learning algorithms

• 3+ years experience working with python, regex and related coding language

• 3+ years experience working with Syslog, various logging formats, and monitoring system

• 3+ years working with configuration management systems such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible,PowerShell or other CMDB systems

• 3+ years experience working with SQL

• 1+ years working with Splunk Analytics

• 6+ years of experience in job specific skills

• Must have a working knowledge of infrastructure systems, software and application stacks such as Vmware Vcenter, Windows, Linux, routers, switches, firewalls, IDPs, IIS, Apache etc

• Experience leading a team is desired
