We own long-range inventory predictions, bridging, & identifying efficiencies in our inventory management via science models.As a Senior Data Scientist on the AIM team, you will design quantitative systems, forecasting models and solve real world problems using the latest machine learning techniques. You will also work with a team of Product Managers, Business Intelligence Engineers and Software Engineers to research and build accurate predictive models and deploy automated software solutions to provide insights to business leaders at the most senior levels throughout the company. Amazon is an Equal Opportunity-Affirmative Action Employer Minority / Female / Disability / Veteran / Gender Identity / Sexual Orientation.Key job responsibilitiesmplement statistical and machine learning methods to solve complex business problemsResearch new ways to improve predictive and explanatory modelsDirectly contribute to the design and development of automated prediction systems and ML infrastructureBuild models that can detect supply chain defects and explain variance to the optimal stateCollaborate with other researchers, software developers, and business leaders to define the scientific roadmap for this team, Master s degree (or Bachelors degree + 8 years of experience) in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or Computer Science 5+ years of experience working as a data scientist or a similar role involving data extraction, analysis, statistical modeling, and communication 5+ years of experience using data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages e.g. Python, or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) Bachelor or Masters degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Operation Research, Economics or a related quantitative field 5+ years of hands-on experience in predictive modeling and machine learning Proficiency in model development, model validation and model implementation Proficiency working with R or Python Experience leading, mentoring, and growing teams of scientists Extensive knowledge and practical experience in several of the following areas: machine learning, time-series, statistics, deep learning, recommendation systems. Experience processing, filtering, and presenting large quantities (Millions to Billions of rows) of data.
