They will be working on a global team to deliver test environments to the growing developer community within Salesforce.This DevOps Release Engineer will be a part of the internal test infrastructure team and will require a strong knowledge of release engineering, app infrastructure (on prem and public cloud), and automation. DevOps Release Engineers at Salesforce are the cornerstone of the technology teams with tremendous responsibilities and high visibility. They will be responsible for all app configurations, deployments in the internal QE, Functional and Performance Testing environments on physical infrastructure and cloud platforms such as Amazon and Google. The Release engineer will also focus on automation of the release engineering activities, and build self service tools for internal teams and customers. A key aspect of this role will be supporting environments in Public Cloud environments such as AWS/GCP and other substrates. Responsibilities:

• Work with a global team (US and APAC based) to coordinate work efforts, report status
• Configuration/ administration of a highly complex core application and multiple integrated products, with new products coming online all the time.
• Configuration of a broad application suite across complex performance and functional testing environments.
• Attention to efficiency and ability to spot and deliver on self service opportunities to your internal customers, driving automation where necessary.
• Strong knowledge for a Source Control Management system like Perforce and Git.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to understand database structures and construct basic SQL queries.
• Working closely with developers to reproduce/troubleshoot environment and infrastructure related issues quickly.
• Ability to track and trend on deployment issues and collaborate with peers to drive solutions.
• Representative for your application areas within the broader Release Engineering team and related development teams.
• Lead efforts for automation of systems and software deployment
• Lead efforts of cloud migration and evolve operational processes to adopt substrate agnostic processes
• Responsibility and accountability for the availability and reliability of our service.
• Design, develop, deploy, and enhance automation to reliably manage the monitoring platform infrastructure
• Build automation wherever possible to improve the development team s agility.
• Administering cloud-based Infrastructure deployment which includes tasks such as provisioning/de-provisioning of resources, maintaining security posture, user administration, monitoring computing resource utilization, network setup, backup/restore and incident management.

Required Skills/Experience:

• BS Degree in Computer Science or equivalent Technical Field
• 6 years Build/Release Experience (of Java-based, on-demand applications).
• 3 years experience with a scripting language: Python, Shell scripting, Java.
• 3 years experience working on Unix platforms.
• 3 years working on AWS or Google Cloud Platform
• Perforce knowledge, GIT.
• Demonstrated ability to support Development Operations in dev, test environments.
• Proficiency with Structure and Object oriented programming.
• Experience supporting an on-demand environment is highly valued.
• Working knowledge of file systems, process management, secure coding, database/SQL, SSH/telnet, HTTP, XML, Networking basics, Storage NAS/SAN.
• Deployment experience using Docker Containers
• Troubleshooting application deployment issues, log analysis
• Working knowledge of Splunk queries and reporting
• Strong automation and scripting development experience to manage and monitor Cloud Infrastructure
• Knowledge on CI/CD Tooling, including Terraform, Spinnaker, and Jenkins
• Created build, test, deploy pipelines
