EE deals with creating and operating work environments that are comfortable, functional, collaborative and efficient. It enables employees to realize their potential and helps Microsoft achieve greater business results. As a software/data engineer, you will be involved in designing, coding and testing features that enable our business partners. You will develop data products, innovating on the latest technologies (Cloud, Big Data, warehouse, data factories) while engineering as a devOps in a highly automated environment with Continuous Integration & Deployment as well as instrumenting telemetry that helps us monitor our service and helps diagnose and resolve issues quickly. You will work closely with peers across teams to help build flexible and high-performing components that enable next generation of business services.

• Design and Develop secure, maintainable, accessible, and scalable large, enterprise data systems - ensuring that the services and the components are: well-defined and modularized, secure, reliable, diagnosable, actively monitored and reusable.
• Carry out quick technology spikes (or proofs of concepts) to create value in new features and service.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and monitor large scale distributed software services and solutions
• Leveraging data and telemetry to make decisions and driving feedback into systems design and implementation.
• Drive improvement of automated test coverage for services, organizes by implementing integration tests, functional tests, performance tests and proactively resolve problem areas.
• Gain a working understanding of Microsoft businesses and collaborate with mentors and leaders in order to contribute to cohesive, end-to-end experiences for our users.
• Stay educated on existing, emerging technologies and do POCs to evaluate technology fits for customer needs.

• 4-5 years development and design working on cloud based high availability systems (including IaaS Infrastructure as a service and PaaS Platform as a Service)
• Working experience in creating/maintaining complex, large enterprise applications/data platforms
• Experience on cloud platforms, including but not limited to: Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS, Google Cloud etc.
• Handson experience on Python, JSON, XML
• Excellent data skills to build and run an enterprise scale Big Data and Data warehouse platform using Azure Data Lake, Apache Hadoop, HDInsight, Azure Data warehouse, SQL PaaS, Spark, Hive, Azure Data Factory or equivalent non-Microsoft technologies.
• Working knowledge of Computer Networking & Security/Encryption Protocols and architecture
• Excellent skills in SQL, Business Intelligence (BI), Analytics, Power BI etc.
• BA or BS degree in Computer Science (or equivalent work experience)

Preferred, not required:

• Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: C#, Java, C/C++, JavaScript, PowerShell, T-SQL
• Working knowledge of DevOps and Agile framework
• Familiarity to Machine Learning, AI, Data Science would a big plus
• Experience in user friendly data visualizations using self-service capabilities
• Testing mindset, before beginning code development
• Translate problem solving techniques into secure, performant code
• Working understanding of Agile team processes
