Job Description

The NCR Digital Signage Group develops software in the cloud that manages and drives media content on a distributed network of displays. Want the opportunity to work with cutting edge technologies in digital displays, multimedia and content creationCome be a part of our team of skilled and professional developers! As a Software Quality Engineer on our team, you would help to analyze, test, and ensure the quality of the Digital Signage line of software products. You would collaborate with other great developers and QA Engineers using Agile methodologies to refine requirements, develop quality software, and get things done!

GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:

The Software Quality Engineer is responsible for verifying the quality of digital signage products to ensure the delivery of high quality solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations. Will be required to participate in cross functional reviews of requirement and design documents, design, develop and execute comprehensive test plans and scripts, and adhere to defined policies, procedures and processes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop test plans and test cases that validate customer requirements are met
  • Confirm, report and manage defects
  • Expand and maintain the automated test suite for our products
  • Help to improve efficiency through scripting and automation of common repetitive tasks.
  • Set up and maintain test environments
  • Create and maintain documentation of testing results and other feature sets
  • Prepare task estimates and provide input into work plans for assigned projects
  • Ability to work independently as well as with the team. Establish and maintain strong working relationships with cross functional team members
  • Communicate effectively, working closely with internal and external resources
  • Identify testing risks and propose solutions to mitigate
  • Provide input into evolving Quality processes
  • Ability to reproduce problems when encountered
  • Provide technical support to Support personnel and/or customers. Research problems and recommend solutions.
  • Participate in the planning and direction of products.

    • OTHER/OCCASIONAL JOB DUTIES:

    • REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • 2+ Years of QA experience.
  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS, or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Working knowledge of network communications.
  • Working knowledge of Client Server and multimedia testing.
  • Working knowledge of computer hardware and peripherals.
  • Programming or scripting experience needed for writing automated tests.
  • Basic knowledge of Quality Assurance processes, procedures, and standards.

    • REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems and networking.
  • Ability to work well both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to multi-task, deal with interruptions and manage time effectively.
  • Exhibits good problem solving skills.
  • Ability to be self-motivated and learn new skills quickly.
  • Familiar with Agile development methodologies
  • Experience with Sahi, Selenium, or other automated testing tools.
  • Skills in programming and scripting: Powershell, JavaScript, .Net technologies
