Description
Role
As a Staff Software Engineer with the Usage Analytics team, you will be building the framework that allows our customers to create innovative, elegant and high performing experiences across multiple devices.
You will use your experience building modern web experiences and your expertise in performance, architecture, and object-oriented design to push the boundaries of our platform.
You will also collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to develop new and improve on existing platform features.
What you get to do in this role:
As a Staff Software Engineer, you will be a key member of the Usage Analytics team, designing and developing frameworks and APIs that make it easier to collect data about our platform and applications at ServiceNow.
You will help identify and organise the data the to be collected. You will use your experience and expertise in performance, architecture and object oriented design to build effective and efficient systems.
You will also collaborate with cross functional engineering teams to develop new and improve on existing features to collect, warehouse platform data and provide reports and visualisation tools.
Apply new technology and innovation to improve our usage data collection and license compliance.
In order to be successful in this role, we need someone who has:
Bachelor s/Masters degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
Passion for software development and problem-solving
10 years of related work experience.
Ability to architect and implement scalable solutions
Mentor developers and lead them technically
Strong knowledge of Java
Very strong hands-on design and coding capabilities in Java and JavaScript
Strong knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL and Oracle.
Experience with concurrency and multi-threaded applications.
Some understanding of analytics/metrics collection desirable.
Strong personal commitment to quality.
Strong written and verbal communication.
