*Creates, develops, plans, writes and edits operational, instructional, maintenance, test or user manuals for paper, multimedia or web-based publications. Contributes to the timely design, production and delivery/completion of product documentation and document sets.As a member of the technical writing division, you will organize and prepare information for publication and develop publication concepts for the best communication of subject matter. Review technical information prepared by other staff members for clarity and content. Take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures.Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience., *What you will do

  • Learn about Oracle Cloud apps, technology, and user assistance concepts through research, hands-on practice, and lively discussions with product management, development, quality assurance, and UX experts and groups.
  • Learn about our end users, consultants, administrators, developers and figure out what they need.
  • Continuously find out more, and stay abreast of the latest and coolest trends in user assistance, curriculum design, and information architecture; use what you learn to innovate and improve constantly.
• Advocate for our users
  • Work closely with product development teams to ensure that UIs look good, make sense, and are usable.
  • Review and write text for the UI. Ensure that all on-screen text, including page names, field labels, tip text, and help, prevent mistakes or false starts, and guide users to the quickest route to success.
• Write, create, build
  • Create content that our users want to read That is, write engaging content, with:
    • Easy-to-read content that can be understood by everyone and that translates well into other languages
    • Graphics, flow diagrams, and infographics that look good and aid understanding
    • Videos, demos, and anything else that helps users quickly understand how to complete their tasks
  • Review or design all kinds of training material, for example elearning or instructor-led training
  • Work with product managers and strategy teams to create top-of-the-line collateral content to support product launch and maintenance.
  • And last but not least, ensure that our help content:
    • Complies with DITA and company style standards
    • Adheres to accessibility standards
    • Requires minimal rework during the editing and review process
• Be our face to the world
  • Manage your own user assistance and product review tasks and deliverables while working in varied development environments (through primarily Agile development).
  • Participate in development discussions, scrum calls, and review meetings.
  • Independently track tasks and deliverable to completion with minimum supervision.
  • Represent the Information Development team in a variety of cross-product teams and projects.

What you need to be successfulEducation and experience

• BA/BS or MA/MS in Technical Communication, English, Instruction Design, Computer Science, or a related field
• A minimum of 5 years of experience writing software documentation, creating instructional video content, and developing related forms of user assistance.

• Experience with varied user assistance deliverables, processes, and techniques
  • • Experience writing on-screen text and messages, and reviewing user interfaces to ensure usability and adherence to style standards
    • Experience with, and knowledge of, a range of visual information design techniques
    • Demonstrated proficiency in understanding user requirements and implementing them in documentation and instructional videos
    • Ability to quickly learn and communicate technical concepts and procedures

    • Experience with Oracle Applications Cloud services or other eBusiness cloud services
