Job DescriptionTitle: Underwriting Analyst Department:Global Production OperationsShift Day/Night/Sunrise ShiftDate: November 2019Reporting To: Team Leader/Assistant Manager PURPOSE OF THE POSITIONThe Underwriting Analyst will be responsible for assisting GPO and Underwriting teams (across various offices in US) at all stages of deal underwriting. The Underwriting analyst will be responsible for generating reports on property financials, evaluating risks associated with the transactions and preparing presentations for loan committee and management. The Analyst will be responsible for timely communication, escalation and quality of work product being submitted to Underwriter and or the Deputy Chief Underwriter on each deal.ACCOUNTABILITIES Essential Duties (Primary Responsibilities) include the following. Assist in all aspects of deal processing from application through underwriting, assisting with the closing and delivery of the loan to Lender and servicing. Generate proforma cash flows, identify and evaluate risks and mitigants associated with a proposed transaction, and prepare formal presentations for management and/or loan committee. Act as liaison between underwriters, analysts, mortgage banking analysts, closers, to review, analyze and dissemination of due diligence materials necessary for the underwriting, approval, and preparation of closing/delivery of GSE loans. Maintain Berkadia systems (e.g. OmniView) with current, applicable deal level data to facilitate production accurate of metrics and reports. Coordinate the ordering, and receipt of all third party reports for GSE loans. Ensure timely receipt of reports from third party vendors; invoice processing, third party review tasks and distribution. Create, organize and maintain underwriting file, create deal checklist with critical dates and deadlines identified, file and maintain deal checklist as due diligence items are received, reviewed, and accepted, and distributes updated checklist weekly. Perform various tasks as assigned by Underwriter which may include ordering market reports and credit reports; conducting real estate tax searches; running crime searches; and searching internet sources (e.g. Google) for sponsor, property, and market news. Support the UW in organizing the delivery of necessary materials to corporate funding facility partners. Assist the Underwriter in preparing analyst feedback material. Arrange and distribute materials for deal / analyst debrief meeting. To be able to match the requirements of the process in terms of being available and be flexible to work in multiple shifts. Draft / provide input to ensure that departmental policies procedures are documented and maintained in light of revised / new policies / procedures / systems on a continuous basis and present to management for approval. In addition constantly review processes in operation and provide suggestions for improvement. Provide relevant management information at agreed intervals to the Manager/AVP/VP/ Site Director India. Work with the Asst. Manager to ensure a high level of motivation, positive communication and a professional work environment throughout the department. Determine and organize appropriate employee trainings/one on one meetings/team meetings, when there is a need. Mgr./Mgr./VP Daily/as neededQUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED (including education, experience and skills) Minimum of BCOM is a must and experience in banking industry is an added advantage. Prior experience in Financial Analysis is an added advantage. Knowledge of commercial real estate operations including cash flows is a must. Must be PC literate in MS Office environment with strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills. Excellent organizational and analytical skills. A willingness to learn and a positive attitude are essential. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Must be proficient in English, excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to read and interpret documentation. Must be able to think outside the box in researching problems and provide workable solutions as needed.
