Architectural accountability is federated according to the architectural risk and potential impact. Design Authorities play a major role in enabling this throughout the delivery lifecycle.DAs are accountable for ensuring their designs align to those decisions, conform to the reference architectures and standards, and satisfy non-functional requirements as outlined by the solution architectureThe DA acts as the gatekeeper of new standards and is overall accountable for the effectiveness of the standards being applied and their impact. This will require them to build or contribute to the right set of standards and to ensure they are meaningfully applied. The DA is responsible for ensuring that the non-functional requirements are understood by the Application Owner and the dates associated with their planned completion, are commensurate with the architecture risk and the expectations for aligning to approved standards. The Design Authority would need to be involved by the team if they see a change to the current flow or if a new business function is being added or when the team thinks that the DA is needed to answer any questions. Overall ownership of the designs adhering to standards as per their Technology Organization.
