Compute Operations enables Linodes cloud infrastructure to deliver content and applications, regardless of network traffic.Partner with the bestBe part of a 24/7 Operations Center for Linodes Cloud Infrastructure. You will be responsible for monitoring, incident response, troubleshooting, break/fix, and managing ongoing maintenance of cloud infrastructure. You will be dedicated to providing better customer experience by quickly detecting customer-impacting issues and mitigating problems.As a Platform Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for:
• Managing and resolving incidents/issues from start to finish.
• Owning the initial investigation and troubleshooting to determine root cause and resolution, creating escalations as needed
• Handling internal and external communication (status page, tickets, etc.)
• Triaging and resolving escalations from customers or internal engineering teams & following up as needed
• Creating and/or update procedures, run-books, diagrams, and other documentation on a continual basis
• Partnering with senior engineering teams during scheduled or emergency maintenance activity
Do what you loveTo be successful in this role you will:
• Have 2 years relevant experience or a Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field
• Have experience working in a Systems administration or DevOps role
• Experience supporting mission-critical Linux servers in virtualized environments
• Have familiarity with best practices of systems architecture, design, and high-performance tuning
• Experience in a hosting environment or other cloud-based IAAS or SAAS
• Have good communication and written skills to articulate technical information to internal teams and external customers
