Linux shell, RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer) will be additional benefit. Administer to provide top level support for 400+ servers (Centos and Ubuntu Linux) along with virtualized servers (Xen, VMware) and backups systems (BackupPC) .Key Skills Breadth and depth of experience/ Strong Knowledge with Linux, especially RedHat/ Centos. Experience/ Strong Knowledge with Linux shell and other scripting languages (e.g. awk, sed, perl) and an understanding of regular expressions (e.g. s/ ss/ _/ g) . Experience/ Strong Knowledge with kernel- based packet filtering (e.g. iptables, netfilter) , masquerading, port forwarding and redirection. Management of VMware based virtual servers. Familiarity with agile development processes and tools. Familiarity with TCP/ IP stack and an affinity for troubleshooting and diagnosing network connectivity problems. Experience with tools such as tcdump, wireshark and other packet sniffing tools. Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure/ add new services as necessary. Maintain the security posture of operational systems by applying and verifying patches in accordance with STIG compliance.
