Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

  • Working with Architecture group, IT Service Delivery, to create strategies and roadmaps, and develop and deploy solutions for the Data Center Services tower
  • Work closely with supplier resources and provide technical direction to suppliers on the architecture and project delivery aspect.
  • Vendor and product analysis, comparison, evaluation, selection, configuration and deployment, including business case creation and justification.
  • Working with Data Center supplier, identify, justify and support projects required to implement strategies and roadmaps, as well as technology refreshes.
  • Work closely with Cloud Operations team and participate in reviewing Cloud projects and recommending solutions.
  • Review applications for Cloud readiness and provide guidance to application team on application deployment/transformation to public Cloud
  • Participate in the Cloud Migration activity and provide technical consultation on the infrastructure and application migration from on-prem to public Cloud
  • Working with Service Delivery and Business Operations, build pricing models for Data Center Services cost recovery
  • Review and approve requirements for Data Center infrastructure (compute, storage, BUR, DR) in support of Application and IT Services projects (e.g. Midrange).
  • Ensuring the architectural design of an IT system solution that support the architecture strategy, positions for future functional requirements, standards and roadmaps, meets the short term business functional requirements, and fits with the current architecture.
  • Lead & manage the data center compute and storage consolidation and technology refresh effort
  • Identify areas of opportunities to enhance the Data Center Services offering that provides Infrastructure cost reduction, address operational overheads and promote agility
  • Ensures that business solutions have an enterprise and strategic perspective and support EA strategies.
  • Works with the lines of business, support staff, and technology areas, to design and document a technical structure based on the existing standards and processes and meets the strategic needs of the business and integrates with other business and IT Processes
  • Ensure that the architectural layout and collaterals are up-to-date
, Skill & Competency Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in Data Center services and Cloud
  • BS or Engineering in Computer science or electronics or related IT focused
  • Should have solid hands-on experience in Cisco UCS, Virtualization (VMware vSphere 5.x/6.x, vRealize suite), Storage (DELL/EMC VNX, VMAX, Unity, XIO & NetApp-OnTap), Replication technologies, backup and HA/DR technologies
  • Solid understanding on AWS and/or Azure Cloud (IAAS/PAAS), Cloud Management platform solution, database Microsoft SQL and/or Oracle, HA/DR technologies
  • Extensive experience supporting Windows and Linux operating systems running as Virtual Machines and/or cloud instances.
  • Strong understanding of networking, DNS, VLANs, Firewall, network segmentation, security, Load Balancer, patch management, monitoring, automation and OSI model.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual problem solving skills with the ability to transform data into useful information.
  • Should have designing and architecture background for large enterprise.
  • Ability to hit the ground running and provide value immediately
  • Automation & Scripting experience Python, bash, PowerShell, Ruby, Azure CLI is a plus
  • Certifications Preferred- VMware, DELL EMC Storage, Cisco UCS, Azure, AWS, ITIL
