Freeset is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead our apparel manufacturing units. We currently run four lean manufacturing lines based in two locations across Kolkata. We are looking to expand in both numbers of lines and type of products. We are looking for a resourceful professional who can drive continuous improvement across our production lines and effectively develop each of their direct reports. Experience and understanding in lean production and AQL quality assurance is highly desirable , but not mandatory.We are focused on quadrupling our organization size in the next five years , so an ability to grow with the company is critical. The individual would manage and oversee a growing team of sewing and quality control supervisors.Key Responsibilities: Operations Measurement & Improvement Lead team of supervisors in ensuring timely delivery of high - quality products Implement and assist in developing the metrics and dashboards to assess our costs , efficiency , quality and other key operating metrics in a transparent and consistent way Suggest and implement regular operational improvement initiatives to improve productivity (reduce costs) , using lean principles and other best - practices (Kanban , Kaizen etc.) People & Strategy Development Work with the Head of Production and wider production team on ensuring proper production practices , standards and measurements are implemented. Work with Production team on assisting growth of new units and products. Train current direct reports in operations and leadership to improve overall team performance and drive continuous improvement ethos. Ensure supervisors and staff understand , and live by the company s core values and founding mission Quality Control & Capability Building Identify an assist in implementing training needs to broaden Freeset s manufacturing capabilities Establish a quality control ethos across the production unit Implement and assist in developing quality control systems to reduce product losses and rejects Production Planning & Coordination Work with customer care department and Head of Production to establish robust production planning processes for Freeset Work with appropriate management systems (e.g. ERP or MRP) that allows for on - time delivery and smooth integration with other departments , (especially procurement and logistics). Requirements: Knowledge of basic manufacturing principles and operational best practices Knowledge Lean production , AQL quality assurance , six sigma would be an added advantage Skills Required: Aptitude in decision - making , people engagement and working with numbers Organized and detail - oriented work ethic and disciplined with priorities Strong leadership capabilities Self - motivated , strategic thinking and able to come up with creative solutions Professional in demeanour , written and oral communication Works well under stress and sustained positive attitude Strong ethic of service and a passion for Freeset s mission and values. Fluent in written and spoken Bangla and English.Bachelors Degree and / or relevant certifications in Production management , six sigma , lean production and AQL quality assurance standards. Proven working experience in operations or manufacturing Experience in lean manufacturing systems is strongly preferred.
