Knowledge and Skills RequiredThe Visual Art teacher must have an awareness of varied art forms and styles, the ability to use different mediums, along with the knowledge of which of these are appropriate for different age groups.RoleThe Art teacher will develop and implement an art programme that exposes students to these varied skills without making them copy and reproduce, giving them a chance to open up their minds to creative possibilities. The programme designed will therefore, enable children to explore and work on a wide range of mediums and materials, tools, techniques, colors, designs, texture, forms, and their functions.The Art teacher ensures that children have freedom of expression to create original art using their imagination; and encourages every child to find a unique voice .
