• Test Automation Lead will be the primary point of contact for automation of the project requirements.
• Should be able identify manual activities that are candidates for automation.
• Automation Lead is responsible for building automation strategy, designing suitable framework and define the scope of automation for each delivery of the application ensuring testing is performed accordingly and with minimum leakage contributing to improving software quality
• Must be able to build hybrid frameworks where possible
• He/she is responsible for precise test execution and validation of test results.
• Must work closely with manual testers and developers to understand project requirement and plan testing automation activities.
• He/she will work under minimal supervision to carry out procedures and execute testing to ensure that the application meets project engagement and requirements.
• Will be responsible for maintaining and improving automaton metrics and published periodic reports on ROI

Business

• Managing regression packs and maintaining automation suits
• Should have an in-depth knowledge of automation tools such as Java, Python, Selenium Web Driver, Junit and Test Ng
• Must be comfortable with Cucumber and Genie frame works and Jenkins
• Automation estimation tools exposure
• Must be able to work across different flavours of data bases such as Terra data, Hadoop etc
• Must have good SQL knowledge and exposure to automation of data testing
• Experience of working with CD/CI pipeline will be desirable

Processes

• Automation Lead will be responsible to ensure that the organization defined testing standards are adhered to with respect to SDF and TDA processes. He/she is also responsible for ensuring that the testing approach and execution process is in compliance with audit requirements.
• Conduct RCA for production defects/Incidences, and enhance test coverage accordingly
• Must be capable of strategizing, planning and identifying test scenarios for automation
• Must ensure end to end coverage of test cases and the execution of the same
• Should execute test cases and establish traceability as per org standards
• He/she should be able to drive calls and run defect triage meetings to analyse the root cause
• Should have the capability to analyse test metrics and prepare effective reports to showcase the ROI to the management
• Must have worked in agile methodology

• Test lead must exhibit excellent team player qualities and ready to work, support and groom the junior members whenever and wherever needed.
• A good problem solver and a person who can display role model characteristics should be good fit.
• Must have good people skills, especially diplomacy and advocacy skills
• He/She must show growth in skill set and have an appetite to learn and grow

Risk Management

• It is a very important responsibility of the Test lead to identify and foresee any Risks that may inhibit his/her day to day activities thereby causing impact to delivery. He must have the potential to foresee such risks, come up with mitigation plan and clearly put forward to the management

Governance

• knowledge of all aspects of the software engineering process
• experience in a wide variety of testing efforts, techniques and automation tools
• Process governance, thorough knowledge of test processes and best practices
• Ability to use Jira effectively to track test progress
• Bank s standards and audit requirements as part of Automation
• Publish periodic status reports on automation status and benefits reaped
