Job Description

Production Support Analyst is an individual contributor position on the production support team. Production support team monitors and maintains data processing jobs for various groups. This involves making sure both nightly scheduled jobs, and any manual run or updates needed, are completed timely and accurately. Team responsibilities include support for new projects as part of change management process; troubleshoot production issues, and works with application development team in solution design. Responsible for providing cross impact analysis for any source data availability or access change, environment outage (planned and unplanned), and working with development team for production releases including QA and pre-prod/UAT.Specific responsibilities/skills:

  • Maintaining and/or creating all relevant documentation including but not limited to documents supporting change management process and procedures, job run book, data backup and retention policy, and applicable access controls documentation
  • Monitor and manage available and rate of use for table space for schema in all environments
  • Monitoring production job run times to documented SLA and troubleshoot and resolve production job failures and issues
  • Performing schema cleanup for obsolete objects and reoccurring data backups
  • Reviewing and responding to request for access to objects in schema
  • Requesting required Functional IDs access and managing overall harmonization of roles and information access levels across production to all lower environments
  • Lower environment readiness for change request development and testing for monthly and emergency releases. Tasks include, but are not limited to, maintaining object level sample selection for reoccurring data refresh requests, ad hoc data requests necessary for individual change requests
  • Code versioning and code repository management- creating branch from trunk after SRS window closes and changes are committed and purging old. Working with developers to obtain list of all objects for deployment to be moved to SRS tag
  • At least 7 years of Java or .Net production support experience
  • At least 7 year of experience with Oracle, SQL , PLSQL
  • At least 7 years of Unix Shell Scripting experience required
  • Knowledge for Scheduling tool like Control-M, Autosys
  • Solid understanding web application architecture
  • Good knowledge of Application Servers like Webspere
  • Strong analytical, logical, technical and problem solving skills
