Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Managing and running the Risk Team while simultaneously participating in the various BAU related tasks
    • Expectation is that the person should be a strong and robust individual contributor who would be able to run a Risk Team based in Mumbai while driving various initiatives from a NY/EMEA perspective
  • Front the Mumbai based discussion in the monthly management meetings
  • Having a keen eye for possibly automating various Risk related processes, in that both Strategic as well as Tactical initiatives
  • Mentoring the team members while also making sure that the work is balanced across team members
  • Make sure that certain processes such as the Investment Direct Reviews (IDRs) are run in an effective manner from Mumbai
  • Strategic:
    • Making sure the Mumbai Team has an increased footprint in the Global Risk Meetings
    • Strategic Risk Reviews and other projects that might come up from time to time.
  • Quarterly review of Risk of the Fixed Income strategies expectation is that the incumbent should have a full view of the same
  • Work on Ad hoc risk related project which may include but not limited to Stress testing.
Requirements
  • MBA with 8+ years or a Graduate with relevant experience of 10+ years (with auxiliary qualifications or certifications)
  • Pursuing or Completion of FRM or CFA would be a plus.
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills (data analysis and ability to understand data flows). Will have to work with large databases.
  • Strong understanding of fixed income and the asset management business.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Ability to debug Excel VBA macros;
  • SQL and advanced VBA skills would be good to have.
  • Delivery focus and detail-orientation with strong commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage priorities and time effectively.
  • Self-starter and ability to work both independently and as a team player.
  • Prior knowledge to tools like Bloomberg, Tableau, Barra One, and Risk Metrics is preferable.
