Job Description

Department Profile: Firmwide Operations includes Shared Services and Banking Operations (SSBO), Operations Risk and Control, Global Project Group and Metrics, Branch Operations and Divisional Management. SSBO provides utility processing services to Global Operations. By functionalising processes across segments, SSBO realises efficiencies through scale, location strategy and adoption of best practices. SSBO provides quality operational core processes at an optimal price point, with maximum benefit to Morgan Stanley business lines. Services currently provided by SSBO include Cash Management, OTC Derivative and Security Settlements, Position Services, Reconciliations Utility, Tax Utility, Network Management and Vendor Management. The Global Reconciliations Utility (GRU) resides within Shared Services and Banking Operations. GRU is responsible for performing reconciliations across external and internal cash and security accounts, servicing the firm across all product and business streams. GRU has teams located in Asia, Europe and North America. Team Profile: The primary team is responsible for the reconciliations of cash and stock movements internally and externally to Morgan Stanley across the EMEA and Asia Regions in addition to performing an oversight function of all GRU initiatives globally. The core processing functions are performed by our business process outsourcing vendor located in India. The key responsibilities of the Mumbai team are to provide vendor oversight and management over these processing functions and to provide change delivery for the wider Reconciliations Platform. The successful applicant will work closely with IT as part of an Agile squad and stakeholders groups to ensure the successful delivery of the reconciliation platform change portfolio. Primary Responsibilities: The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities: - Deliver story mapping and epics capturing the Product Owner and stakeholder high level requirement - Through refinement processes deliver detailed user stories building-on previously defined capabilities to design target state - Work with stakeholders and Product Owner to define test success criteria and where applicable support execution - Point of escalation for stakeholders - Actively collaborate within the Agile squad to effectively deliver user stories into the production environment - Perform root cause analysis and elimination of issues at source - Identify risk, issues ensuring timely escalation where appropriate and provide assistance in resolving - Work towards improving efficiency of change execution through automation opportunities - Build an understanding of the firms reconciliation control processes and how this links to our clients requirements and the regulatory framework, *Skills required (essential): - Strong Communication skills - Track record of delivering change - Working knowledge of Agile - Ability to interact with all levels of the organisation - Able to work well under pressure and adhere to strict deadline - Excellent attention to detail - Strong organizational and problem solving skills - Ability to multi task and prioritise appropriately - Assumes ownership of problems and drives towards their resolution Skills desired The following skills would be advantageous, but not essential, for candidates applying for this role - Experience of Signavio process mapping - Knowledge of Reconciliations Morgan Stanley is an equal opportunities employer.
