If you have a need for flexibility, then please discuss this with the Hiring Manager.Banking & Credit (B&C) division in the Private Bank works alongside Bankers to drive business under the Banking and Credit P&L line. Within B&C, Distribution is a client facing division that originates, structures, underwrites and executes transactions for clients. The role holder will perform a role in the Distribution team for clients specific to a geographic location and assigned to him/ her. The role holder will also be responsible to provide Banking solutions to this set of clients. The role holder will be expected to work in a team with Bankers/ PBEs and face clients and then liaise with internal stakeholders including Credit Risk, Credit Operations, Legal and Compliance to build consensus on transactions and deals. In addition to the Distribution role, the role holder will also support Banking & Credit Head India in the Product role to ensure delivery of B&C solutions to onshore Indian clients from BBPlc India legal entity. This will require preparation of product notes and ideas and seeking approvals from various governance functions and implementation.What will you be doing Client Engagement and Product ManagementThe role holder will be a key member of the Banking & Credit team and will be required to engage with potential and existing clients to originate and execute banking and credit transactions. The role holder will have to use market knowledge, banker feedback and customer feedback to identify and implement new opportunities and structures that drive incremental business and customer value. The role holder is expected to deliver the revenue and volume targets from this product as determined with senior management from time to time. The role holder will be required to interact and coordinate with private bankers, service managers and various infrastructure teams to deliver products, solutions, trade ideas/ strategies on a regular basis.The role holder will have to engage with clients directly and/or in partnership with private banker, understand the client need and suggest solutions, thus driving sales for Banking & Credit products for client segment assigned. The role holder will be required to structure credit transactions, including cross border transactions or those with multiple lending vehicles. The role holder is expected to prepare and disseminate client communication in a lucid format to illustrate various solutions. He or she will maintain end to end of the product delivery for both Banking & Credit products in the Bank legal entity in India. Additionally, maintenance of deposit and savings rate for Private Bank India customers and preparing ALCO proposals and seeking their approvals will also be a core responsibility. The role holder is responsible for the profitability of the credit extended and will also prepare strategic presentations/strategy notes for senior management. The role holder will also have to interact with other product teams on an ongoing basis to add/enhance the combined product offering. The role holder will also work with structuring teams in other locations for providing credit solutions that span multi jurisdictions.Operational/ GovernanceThe role holder will engage with various teams to establish new process or improve existing process to ensure seamless Banking and Credit offering. He or she will assess risk from financial products accepted as collateral to help Risk team determine Lending Values. He or she will prepare and record the terms in term sheets and subsequently in credit proposals clearly analyzing the case and capture the rationale for approval. He or she will have to ensure that credit reviews meet the standards specified by internal polices and also those by external regulators. He or she will ensure that annual reviews are completed within time. The role holder will help in procedural navigation with Risk and Operations, influence and convince them to ensure the solution is approved appropriately and only then provide the same to the client. He or she will also be responsible for communicating interest rates on each transaction to clients and bankers after appropriate commercial approvals. He or she will work with vendors and co-ordinate for various checks and maintain regulatory compliance in each case. The role holder is expected to actively monitor the risk of client positions published by Operations and also engage with client and banker to handle management of the same.The role holder is expected to keep himself/herself abreast with the latest regulatory changes including those from Reserve Bank of India, Securities Exchange Board of India and ensure compliance with the same. The role holder is expected to also undertake training exercises for private bankers and infrastructure teams from time to time. The role holder is expected to ensure that his or her area of work is audit compliant by operating within defined control framework.What we re looking for:Qualifications: The role holder should have a post graduate degree in finance or statistical discipline OR a professional qualification like Chartered Accountant (CA) / Chartered Financial Analyst. Skills: As a structurer, the role requires wide market connects, deep analytical abilities, commercial acumen, business development skills, inter-personal skills to name a few. The incumbent should be a willing learner, as no two situations in this area are the same, and one needs to draw upon all knowledge, experience and ability to tap into the firms resources in various areas, to create an optimal solution.Analytical Skills: The role holder will need to have strong research and analytical skills in order to analyse client financials and business information such that appropriate solutions are delivered. The role holder will need to have understanding of macro-economy, interest rates, equity markets and credit markets discipline.Skills that will help you in the Role:Communciation/ Negotiation Skills: The right role holder should have strong communication skills (written and verbal) including excellent listening skills. The right role holder should be strong in negotiation and have the ability to navigate within the organisation across multiple functions and deliver the solution to client. Relationship Skills: The right role holder will manage clients with banking and credit needs directly on a day to day basis in most cases and hence should have good relationship management skills also.Team Skills: The role holder should have excellent team skills and additionally high orientation towards customer service.Solution Oriented: The right role holder should have the ability to think creatively and ability to explore new ideas/opportunities and develop innovative approaches, thus high on initiative taking. The right role holder should have the ability to work under stringent timelines but retain composure. Regulatory Knowledge: The role holder will need to have full awareness of the local regulatory requirements prescribed by Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for providing banking services and financing to clients. The role holder should have detailed knowledge of the securities business governed by Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) that will form part of the collateral in credit transactions. Language: The role holder should be familiar with English language (spoken and written) and preferably familiar in speaking Hindi also. The right role holder should have experience in dealing in multi-cultural environment.,
