They might help to structure a complex and sensitive cross-border transaction; advise on a new product introduction; develop a training program or defuse an investor dispute. They preserve the firm s invaluable reputation for integrity and protect the firm from sanctions with policies and procedures that meet regulatory requirements around the world. They also strive to maintain cooperative relationships with governmental policy makers and the regulatory and self-regulatory agencies that govern the firm s businesses.Background on the TeamThe Global Compliance Department manages a Firmwide Compliance Risk Management program, including Compliance risks that transcend business lines, legal entities, and jurisdictions of operation.Primary ResponsibilitiesThis role will be responsible for coordinating and executing on governance-related activities for the department.-Create regular metrics and other reporting materials for management-Identify and develop new metrics and reporting-Create quarterly board materials and regulatory presentations-Develop and track the department s Annual Compliance Plan -Coordinate Compliance risk identification for the department including through the coordination of Compliance Risk Assessments-Coordinate for the department the Risk Control Self-Assessment process-Support governance of the New Product Approval process for Compliance-Work on strategic projects as well as assist with daily department operations, *Skills Required-Undergraduate degree-3+ years of experience in Compliance, Legal or regulatory roles relating to the financial services industry-General understanding of the financial industry and regulatory bodies-Strong Microsoft Office skills required, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint-Strong communication skills, both written and verbal-Strong attention to detail-Project management experience-Strong organization skills and ability to manage multiple competing deadlines and projects-Strong sense of ownership regarding work product
