  • The position will provide support to the Chairman and Board of Directors of MAN Group companies, its sub-committees and the members.
  • The purpose of the position of Group Legal Head is to provide support in the delivery of reliable, accurate, timely and well-informed advice to the Management & Board on legal issues and the potential legal implications of various corporate strategies and business initiatives and projects.
  • The position also provides support of the professional and ethical standards of practicing solicitors and legal advisers within the Department.
  • This includes specialist legal services, analysis of legal risks and legality assurance to the Senior Management.
Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a key adviser to the senior management on issues of Company governance, risk management, Company growth, policy implementation, internal and external communications relating to sensitive matters, strategic planning and execution, and special projects.
  • Responsible for providing day-to-day advice to senior administrative staff with respect to matters of Company policy, risk management and, in conjunction with designated loss prevention and ethics specialists, professional responsibility matters
  • Responsible for handling Litigation (Civil & Corporate Law), Litigation, Arbitration, Competition law, Labour Law, Tax Law, contract management and agreements related to Merger & Acquisition, Joint Venture, Technology transfer, Non-Disclosure, Consultancy, Joint Development, Equipment procurement agreements etc.
  • Managing litigation including preparation of briefs, co-ordination and briefing counsels for appearance in courts for litigation.
  • Ensuring Statutory & Legal compliances in companys documentation, transactions and action to strategically liaise and successfully resolve all ongoing legal cases including litigation, arbitration, contract management
  • Ensuring and protecting the legal interest of the organizations by ensuring proper management of litigation, minimizing risk of the Organization.
  • Coordinating and supervising Legal Department engaged to represent the Company with respect to the resolution of potential claims against the Company.
  • Coordinating and supervising all outside legal counsel engaged to represent the Company with respect to asserted claims or legal proceedings.
  • Responsible for updating the management on evolving judicial trends and legislative proposals, policy changes, amendments in-laws and important judgments passed by various Courts / Forums and the appraisal of the impact thereof.
  • Responsible for leveraging technology to establish best practices and procedures and Corporate Governance and liaise with various government and state bodies. Impart training to employees/channel partners on key policies and legal development and conduct compliance audits and investigations.
Preferred Experience :
  • Prefer people from manufacturing background with experience in International Arbitration. Role will be 70% litigation that too in arbitration & 30% would be non-litigation.
  • Team Management experience is mandatory.
Your key Qualifications & Competencies:
  • Graduate /Post Graduate in Law
  • 10+ years of experience in Manufacturing Industry
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines in high paced environment
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Complete understanding of labour laws, commercial laws & IRDAI regulations.
