*The Mainframe Systems Performance Engineer is responsible for monitoring and evaluation of all aspects of z-platform performance, including investigation of CPU utilization, Coupling Facility activity, database, application, and DASD Storage performance issues. The candidate will work closely within a team of systems performance and mainframe storage engineers to provide technical support for all related projects and activities. The candidate will act as a liaison with application and other infrastructure teams on all technical matters related to z-platform performance, as well as to identify optimization opportunities and lead capacity planning efforts., *Skills RequiredExperience managing Mainframe Storage / DASD in a multi CEC, multi LPAR, multi SYSPLEX z-platform environment.This includes a strong working knowledge of z/OS internals, z/OS system software, IBM Utilities, JES, ISPF, JCL, DADSM, ICF Catalogs, VSAM, VSAM/RLS.- Strong experience with SMS, DFHSM, DFDSS- Knowledge of IBM DS8K and EMC VMAX/PowerMax family hardware. - Strong written and verbal English language communication skills.- The ability to effectively interface with external disk and software vendors.- Weekend work and on-call coverage is required.Skills Desired- Experience with disk replication software and technology from IBM (Global Mirror, Copy Services Manager (CSM) a plus) and EMC (SRDF/A, GDDR a plus)- Connect Direct (NDM), ftp- Familiarity with data migration and hardware refresh techniques. - Familiarity with site swap and disaster recovery testing and procedures.- Knowledge of IBM TS7000 and Dell/EMC DLm virtual tape- Understanding of SMF record types as related to data statistics, RMF reporting - Working knowledge of IDCAMS, SAS (MXG, Ca-MICS), TSO/E, REXX, IBM DS CLI, Perl, .NET- Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel- Familiarity with Catalog Recovery Plus, IBM Allocation Optimizer, Ca-Allocate, Ca-Vantage(SAMS), FDR/ABR, zEDC Compression
