This in turn helps us to provide better support to our broad client base.The Role ResponsibilitiesStrategyAs the Manager, Business Risk Management (BRM), CPBB:

  • The role holder is accountable for supporting the strategic business agenda while maintaining risk, assurance and governance oversight, alongside the CPBB Global & Regional BRM, Country CPBB COO and Management Team. The role holder will be responsible to support in managing the governance forums in CPBB.
  • The role responsibility is also maintaining the governance and assurance of processes and frameworks for robust compliance and controls including AML and sanctions checks, protection of Bank, client information and assets
Business
  • Facilitate a framework for effective management of operational, compliance, conduct, and cyber security risks across the CPBB Online and Mobile Banking, and SST country and regional business and in compliance with applicable internal policies and external laws & regulations across our markets, leading to timely assessment of residual risks at Country level.
  • Periodically assess, update and maintain residual risk profile for all reporting purposes (internal and external).
  • Monitor and minimize operational losses and upkeep management controls awareness in the CPBB Online and Mobile Banking, and SST processes to ensure appropriate focus on risks/issues and resolutions.
Processes
  • Maintain strong stakeholder engagement with Group Process Owners (GPO), Technology Services, CMT(s), Risk & Compliance and Group Internal Audit to ensure alignment across stakeholder groups.
  • Ensure appropriate representation across the stakeholder groups in governance and delivery forums.
  • Escalate appropriately to ensure the GPOs, CPBB BRM, CPBB Operations and CPBB Management Team are updated and able to intervene as required.
Risk Management
  • Provide inputs and updates, as required, to the Risk Committee meetings in CPBB to ensure quality governance of processes.
  • Work with the relevant CPBB RFO to ensure Online and Mobile Banking, and SST processes are fit for purpose and meet regulatory requirements.
  • Support the, Global Head, Business Risk Management (BRM) Digital, CPBB and the group and country CPBB Digital and SST business to execute responsibilities as outlined in the Group ERMF and to maintain a strong and appropriate control environment covering CPBB Online and Mobile Banking, and SST businesses
  • Responsible to manage and support regulatory audit / inspections on CPBB Online and Mobile Banking, and SST teams in group / country / region as well as offshore service centres.
  • Evaluate Online and Mobile Banking, and SST processes across the Client Journeys within CPBB to ensure controls and governance are in place for any initiatives introduced in the Journeys.
  • Provide input to the design of global CPBB Online and Mobile Banking and SST processes and controls ensuring local requirements are considered, while adhering to Group standards.
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining ERMF in the CPBB Online and Mobile Banking, and SST processes and ensure that the inherent and residual risk profile is well maintained.
Governance
  • Ensure risk acceptances are in place where required and treatment plans (both country and group level) are tracked to meet target residual risk state.
  • Responsible for ensuring that CPBB Online and Mobile Banking, and SST process governance for AML & CDD activities is in full compliance.
  • Support Group driven regulatory requirements (e.g. OCIR, GDPR, IBOR) for CPBB Digital and SST process and broader CPBB, as required.
  • Single point of contact to answer and update all queries and submissions relating to CPBB Digital and SST governance.
  • Ensure non-financial risks in the CPBB Online and Mobile Banking, and SST processes are effectively assessed and managed, in compliance with applicable internal policies and external regulations across our markets.
Regulatory & Business Conduct

  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Support Global Head, Business Risk Management (BRM) Digital, CPBB as required, to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank s Conduct Principles: Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Financial Markets; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • Masters or Professional Certification will be an added advantage.
  • 4-5 years relevant risk management experience and/or business experience in Consumer, Private and Business Banking.
  • Strong business or risk management, process and controls background.
  • Knowledge of the Banks Operational Risk Framework, Policy and Standards.
  • Familiarity with Retail Channels (Digital/Online/Mobile, ATMs, Branch and Voice and Virtual) a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong interpersonal, relationship building and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to think strategically as well as be able to execute.
  • Collaborative and creative problem solver, while being outcome focused.
  • Ability make decisions in an unstructured environment and to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
