The success of the Bank hinges on how we harness our unique strengths, create an inclusive and flexible environment, and where our people feel empowered to use the freedom and accountability that we give them to go above and beyond for our customers.What is the Opportunity We are seeking a Managing Director to lead our Climate Risk Advisory and Net Zero Portfolio Management team.The role sits within the Group s front-line Sustainable Finance team [and reports to the Global Head of ESG Client Risk Management]. Our Sustainable Finance offering acts as centre of excellence on a broad set of ESG topics providing thought leadership, strategic advice and transaction support for SCB s clients across the Commercial, Corporate and Institutional Bank ( CCIB ).The successful candidate will be responsible for: - Leading on climate risk analysis, solutions and support to clients on their journey to Net Zero - Creating a centre of expertise within CCIB for managing climate impacts from our client and transaction choices - Developing a portfolio approach to transition finance in line with the Group s commitment to mobilise $300bn of green and sustainable finance by 2030 What will you do - Work closely with the Global Head of ECRM to manage climate-related environmental and social risks and formulate a best in class advisory and client risk management offering - Establish CCIB clients current Climate Risk profile using validated tools and methodologies and use these to support client and portfolio selection decisions - Work with relationship teams to develop client transition plans that support decarbonisation with the Bank s products and services - Oversee CCIB inputs into Climate Stress Testing, Climate Reporting and Climate Regulatory consultations - Act as the central point for all Climate and Net Zero Portfolio related client queries across CCIB; - Work closely with Global Industries Group, Transition Acceleration Team and global / regional business heads to prioritise and provide support on actionable climate ready opportunities - Work closely with Credit Portfolio Management in the development of an Origination to Distribute model for transition assets - Represent the Group on external platforms, initiatives, etcWhat do you need to succeed - Significant international banking exposure including ESG / Sustainability / Climate Risk experience - Knowledge and experience across multiple sustainability initiatives and regulations - Knowledge of environmental and socials risks across multiple industries and geographies - Ability to create a team in a dynamic area of the Group - Ability to analyse and translate climate risk data into opportunities and client insights - Ability to interpret and synthesise climate research and developments into meaningful and tangible actions for CCIB clients Live the Valued Behaviours of Do the right thing , Never settle and Better Together on a day-to-day basis whilst seeking opportunities for self-development and growth Be an inspirational people leader who looks for opportunities to grow others, develop talent, give clarity and guidance, drive purpose, and enhance decision quality across the team Be a leader who helps to grow the Bank, harnessing a strategic mindset and the ability to navigate complex situations and ambiguityWhat s in it for you Chance to influence and shape the future trajectory of a global bank in relation to the biggest challenge facing the world today Be at the forefront of driving the transition to net zero and managing climate risk Significant leadership exposure and potential Competitive rewards and benefits,
