New Product Development- Managing the NPD and NPI pipeline to ensure timely completion of development projects to meet launch/ savings targets- Scheduling and tracking of tasks for each individual project in a way that maximizes the utilization of capacities at plant/vendor end while meeting the project completion timelines- Conducting periodic reviews and publishing Project trackers on weekly basis- Ensure right intervention at each stage to minimise Time to Market and achieve Right First Time for all new developments- Document product and component design changes and communication to all stakeholders on monthly basis- Drafting market communication for new products or product design changes for input to marketingB. New Product Introductions- Product costing as per Bill of Material(BOM) for standard price calculation- Provide information in required format for code introductions in SAP including standard price, product hierarchy etc.- Coordination with planning for loading bill of material in system post code introduction.- Arrive at production volume for new products with inputs from marketing and loading of production plan for initial months in liaison with planning- Coordination with plant to ensure timely completion of Trials and supply of samples for launch display based on inputs from marketingC.New Component Development and Introductions- Identification of vendors and development of new components after taking inputs from design team- Target cost calculation for component based on benchmarking with existing components, commodity price slabs, weight etc.- Negotiation with vendors for achieving target cost and arriving at purchase price for components- Provide information in required format for code introductions in SAP including purchase price, relevant code for taxation etc.- Tracking of new component introduction status and publish update on weekly basis- Component development cycle management and stage wise tracking for sample approval, trial lot approval and production lot approval in coordination with design, quality and production teamsD. Ordering- Calculation of component volumes required for new products based on product launch quantities and bill of material (BOM)- Raising of purchase orders as per negotiated price and component volumes- Synchronize component deliveries as per production plan of new products in liaison with planning and design teams (based on results of production trials)- Handover of new components for regular purchase after successful approval of production lotsE.Component transitions- Manage component changes for design, quality or margin improvements through change in BOM post production lot approval of new component- Track consumption status of old component and time arrival of new components to minimise dead inventory- Identify ramifications of a component change like design change in inhouse manufactured parts or changes in related components, and communication to all stakeholders to ensure a smooth transitionF.Vendor development- Development of new vendors for localizing import components, outsourcing of inhouse manufactured components and for de-risking new components- Evaluation of vendor capability after assessing samples in coordination with QC and benchmarking- Completion of formalities like NDA, Vendor introduction in system etc. to initiate purchase- Managing and tracking vendor paymentsG.Benchmarking and Cost savings- Identify opportunities for cost savings in new components through identification of alternate material, alternate supplier or both- Sourcing of competition product or component samples from the market or through interaction with vendors for benchmarking purpose- Tracking of commodity price slabs in coordination with purchase team to ensure minimal cost escalation in new components post development H.Packaging development- Development of Primary packaging for new products - Coordinating product samples to vendor for development and fitment trials at plant with packaging box sample- Product- box mapping and arriving at optimal dimensions to minimize inventory - Code introductions, ordering and scheduling of supply as per production plan for new products1. 100% completion of projects within agreed timelines2. 100% compliance in periodic review and publishing project trackers3. 100% supply compliance for new components as per launch plan4. 100% system readiness for new products to meet launch timelines5.
