Job Description

  1. Oversee and manage the complete packaging development process, including the design creation (artwork), performance and functionality testing and specifications of packages sourced.
  2. Preparation of new artworks for primary, secondary & tertiary packaging materials of new project development.
  3. Preparation of specification & testing procedures for primary, secondary & tertiary packaging materials of new project development.
  4. Maintaining the artwork database (artwork codes, artwork masters etc.) for existing products as well as new development products (Creation of master database).
  5. Maintain data base of specification of packages.
  6. Co-ordination & Execution of domestic as well as export artworks.
  7. Check Artworks, Print proofs and Coordinate with Purchase department.
  8. Involved in third party products from Development to Approval till it Release.
  9. Handling of RA Samples for New Development of Products for Country Registration.
  10. To Coordinate with other departments viz. Business Development, R&D, Demand Planning, Marketing, Purchase, Manufacturing site, QA & QC for smooth execution of projects.
  11. To Check and Approve Shade card in all respects i.e. Text, Colour, Dimension, Barcode, Pharma code, Braille etc.
  12. Involved in activities like Initiation of Change Control, Evaluation & Implementation.
  13. Online Printing Validation & Approval for Printing Packaging Materials.
  14. Understand customers packaging requirements and best practices in the market.
  15. Keep track of internal and global safety and transportation regulations for packaging considerations.
  16. Analyze root cause of package damaged and provide remediation actions to avoid Customer complaints or safety incidents.
  17. Establish standards and guidelines for packaging suppliers evaluation and conduct quality and safety assessments.
  18. Fulfill transportation rules and regulations for packaging and comply regulatory requirements.
  19. Optimize packaging cost through: rationalization of number of packages used, considering the right design for transportation, handling in manufacturing and operations.
  20. Preparation of SOP for packaging development department.
Key Requirements:
  • Position: Packaging Development Executive
  • Year of experience: 4 to 8 years
  • Education: Degree in Packaging engineering /Post-Graduation Diploma in Packaging Technology /PGD in packaging from IIP/BE printing technology / packaging technology / polymer technology or CIPET
  • Process management
  • Working experience within the pharmaceutical industry
  • Attention to detail and quality focused
  • High level understanding of Regulatory quality, standards and policies
  • Candidate from Mumbai Preferred
