Job Description

• Accountable for maximizing equipment availability, reliability and operational efficiency at site
• Improve reliability through Continuous Improvement techniques/ up-gradation/ Projects / implementation of advance diagnostic and online condition monitoring techniques.
• Conduct equipment reliability studies.
• Plan and organise jobs during Turnaround / Shutdown services
• Responsible for overall Selection & Standardization of best practices
• Responsible for cost and budgeting, optimization of resources and spares.
• Support in maintaining Statutory and Regulatory compliance.
• Review Root Cause Analysis and troubleshooting for major problems
• Participate in inter-site meets & share LFIs, saps, challenges, opportunities and best practices.
• Oversee inventory management & Ensure availability of critical & insurance spares.
• Support for Technical Due Diligence for major activities, minor projects, plant expansions and modifications.
• Follow and enforce applicable safety procedures/ practices
• Help sites to achieve goals in availability, safety, reduced unplanned downtime & reliability issue
• Identify gaps in maintenance systems and practices through KPI, inter and intra site audits at regular intervals
• Periodic review of inter-site audits.
• Identify and Implement energy conservation initiatives.
• Review and maintain IMS documentation.
• Standardize outsourcing, logistics & technical validation system for vendor/contractor
• Identify training needs and facilitate for learning, skill development of subordinates. Conduct timely appraisals
• Conduct regular inter-site meets for knowledge sharing and common practices across group
• Represent Organisation in various industrial forums, participate in national level conference, seminars & other networking events and drive organisation#s standards and integrity into industry to strengthen maintenance strategy within the industry.
Job Description (Specific To Position) Job Purpose Responsible for engineering of a project of Medium/Small size and Medium/Low complexity classification. He reports to Chief Instrumentation Engineer and is supported by Sr. Instrumentation Engineers. Job Accountabilities Duties & Responsibilities Core TechnicalPrepare and review project engineering documents
• Preparation and review of general engineering specifications
• Preparation of engineering design basis
• Preparation and review of various deliverable contents
• To review and improve engineering
Should have following know how:
• Hands on experience on instrumentation data sheet, specification preparation for job.
• Conversant with design calculation of flow control/relief/blowdowns etc
• Comprehensive understanding of system architecture, and experience.
• Hands on experience at engineering of DCS, PLC based ESD, alarm annunciation, Machine monitoring systems for above stated industry domain
• Familiarity with, and working experience with diversified sets of manufacturers and service providers across instrumentation domain.
• Familiarity and experience on latest trends of cyber security, SIL studies, field operations in terms of troubleshooting and rectification will be an added advantage.
• Familiarity with various statutory, regulatory, international/ national norms, practice, prevalent codes/ standards
Detail engineering activities and site support
• Preparation and checking of deliverables like instrument datasheets, databases and drawings
• Providing technical guidance to subordinates
• Interdisciplinary checks and co-ordination
• Commissioning support and resolution of site queries
Vendor evaluation, inspection and testing
• Inspection of vendor products and expediting
• Review of vendor offers and TBE
• System FAT & SAT
Plan and organize project related activities
• To prepare and plan deliverable schedule and co-ordinate with project control
• To review job progress and liaise with Project Team.
• To determine manpower requirements and other resources for projects
• Provide status reports and feedback to Project Team.
Proposal Engineering
• Prepare instrumentation budget estimate
• Prepare man hours estimate for instrumentation related engineering activities
Responsibilities when operating as a part of Project task Force
• Lead engineer shall be assigned for a project of Medium/Small size and Medium/Low complexity classification
• Review of Reliance specifications to ensure all stake holders needs are addressed
• Participate in value engineering at the outset of the project
• Ensure all the engineering processes and procedures are followed by DEC
• Responsible for all review work conducted by other design engineers and sr. design engineers
• Responsible for all interface between other discipline leads and to resolve all inter-discipline problems
• Responsible for liaising with Procurement and various vendors

Key Attributes (Experience and Qualifications)Necessary:
• B.E / B.Tech Instrumentation & Control
• 12-18 years of experience in C&I engineering in Project Environment, in a typical hydrocarbon / fertiliser/chemical industry.
Desirable:
• Experience in Filed Instrumentation & control systems engineering in DEC /LSTK company
Education Requirement :BE / ME / B Tech / M Tech in respective disciplineExperience Requirement :7 to 10 years of maintenance experience with minimum 3 years as a Senior- Engineer Reliability.Skills & Competencies :
• Profound knowledge of best maintenance practices, energy conservation measures, project management, should be able to manage and lead a team of engineers with strong trouble shooting capabilities.
• In depth knowledge of Equipment and its maintenance practices and predictive Diagnostic Testing Tools
• Familiar with various Codes and Standards
