This in turn helps us to provide better support to our broad client base.The Role ResponsibilitiesDigital assets such as digital currencies, tokenisation and crypto assets, underpinned by DLT/ Blockchain technology, are disruptive innovations that have the potential to radically transform financial services in the future by solving real client pain points. Standard Chartered has started the journey and while we have taken pioneering action, the Group s ambition is to become leaders in this space. To drive this agenda and help the Group realise it s ambition, a pan-bank Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Digital Assets has been set up and we are recruiting a Senior Software Engineer to join the team.If you have a passion to be part of a talented technology team, participating in designing and delivering innovative solutions involving emerging and modern technology stacks with agile product delivery methodology, then this role is for you.The core elements of this role will include:

• Engineer, build and deploy of proof-of-concept DLT / Blockchain projects.
• Analyse and select optimal design choices and technical configurations, while focussing on interoperability
• Implementing Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) pipelines by working with various members of the Development and Central DevOps team.
• Play a key role in all stages of the development process (development, testing, deployment, monitoring).

Strategy

• Enhances and helps to drives the engineering strategy for the Digital Assets COE in alignment with the T&I guidelines.
• Awareness and understanding of market developments (DLT, Smart Contracts, DApps) with a view to experiment where appropriate.
• Apply agreed methodologies for modern software development including strategies for API s, Containers, Microservices, DevOps, and Cloud-Native applications, thereby leading to improved product quality, time to market, and future agility.

Processes

• Experience and knowledge of change management principles and methodologies (i.e. Software Development Lifecycle)
• Ensure reports on code metrics (i.e. code quality, code coverage, security scanning etc) are in place.
• Adopts or publishes reference patterns that can be implemented across other Technology verticals
• Identifies, mitigates and communicates key assumptions, issues and risks associated with the technology decisions to the Digital Assets COE Technology Team.

QUALIFICATIONS:Experience

• >=3years in a professional DLT core developer role, ideally in Enterprise Ethereum, ideally with >=5years experience as professional developer overall.
• Demonstrates very strong understanding of DLT concepts - ideally Enterprise Ethereum - such as consensus, atomicity, cross-chain atomicity, Merkle tree, cryptography
• Experience with enterprise scale systems is a benefit.

Software Engineering

• Strong experience in agile methodologies and test-driven development.
• Experience in engineering highly available, fault-tolerant, and scalable application architectures.
• Experience in automated software testing and software development using open source technologies.
• Knowledge in domain-driven design, API driven development, design patterns and enterprise integration patterns are advantageous.
• Must have experience in delivering software via complete Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline.

Software Development

• Demonstrates very strong understanding in at least one development stack (e.g. Enterprise Ethereum x JAVA or Enterprise Ethereum x Solidity or Fabric x Go etc.). This includes being able to demonstrate understanding of inter-versions differences at the library level.
• Must be able to code in Java (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud Services, Spring Batch, Spring Integration & SCDF) & JavaScript
• Must have experience deployment applications into Azure or AWS environments
• Experience in some of the technologies below:
  • Language: SQL, Groovy, Python
  • PaaS: OpenShift, AWS, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes
  • Data: MySQL, Postgres, Oracle, MongoDB, ElasticSearch, Hadoop, Spark, HIVE, Tableau
  • Cache: Redis, Memcached
  • Middleware: Kafka, RabbitMQ, REST API
  • Logging & Monitoring: ELK, Zipkin, AppDynamics, New Relic

DevOps

• Strong knowledge in CI/CD toolset such as Ansible, Artifactory, Jenkins, BitBucket, SonarQube, Fortify, Flyway, Jira and Confluence.
• Strong knowledge in automated testing toolset such as jUnit, Mockito, cucumber, Selenium etc.
• Strong knowledge in scripting languages such as Groovy and Linux shell.
• Knowledge in Integrated Development Environment (IDE) such as Eclipse and IntelliJ

Non-technical Skills

• Proven ability to work and share knowledge within a team environment.
• Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
• Ability to make good / sound decisions and use independent judgement.
• Strong reasoning, analytical and inter-personal skills.
• Keen and quick to learn new skills
