Job Description

Job Title:Senior Manager EPD NPI Process , Playbook & I&D SupportLocation:MumbaiReporting to:Director Strategy and Business Development, EPD IndiaPrimary Job Objective:

  • The overall responsibility of this role is to drive NPI process Playbook, Launch excellence and Post Launch to ensure NPI goal; of 3% for EPD India.
  • Working with affiliate NPI teams, Medical teams, Regulatory team and I&D team to facilitate playbook process including driving EPD playbook - ideation, forecasting, one pagers, ensuring market research and stakeholder management in line with business goals, strengths and capabilities across key therapy areas. Drive I&D productivity and ensure that 50% of the NPIs throughput is from I&D by 2020. Design and support the therapy area strategy. Identify therapy area gaps in portfolios of and deliver differentiated products through projects like MOONSHOT across all 3 affilaites in EPD India. Drive, introduce and align EPD India NPI process with global NPI process (E2E) through planisware implementation across all 4 affiliates . Drive the EPD India Innovation Board process. Drive Differentiation projects for all lead brands of all 4 affiliates which contributes to 60% of EPD India $ 1.03 BN sales.
Core Job Responsibilities:NPI process and Playbook
    • Overall responsibility for driving playbook between 3 affiliates working closely with NPI teams, Regulatory, Medical, IP, Operations and I&D teams
    • Work with the affiliate NPI and IB board to finalise 4 themes of playbook per affiliate for the year across 3 affilaites .
    • Roll the learnings and revised process of running the playbook for the year and driving the meetings across the year within the EPD to finalise playbook for every quarter
    • Working with affiliate NPI teams, Medical teams, Regulatory team and I&D team to facilitate playbook process - ideation, forecasting, one pagers, ensuring market research and stakeholder management in line with business goals, strengths and capabilities across key therapy areas.
    • Roll out the EPD playbook every quarter to Epd India and report the pipeline to gloabl teams
    I&D productivity :
    • Work with the Working with affilaite NPI teams, Medical teams, Regulatory team and I&D team to facilitate I&D playbook process - ideation, forecasting, one pagers, and due diligence for I&D pipeline
    • Ensure robust DRF (business case) by actively enagaging with NPI , commercial,finance and I&D teams .
    • Running monthly EPD I&D review meetings for active I&D products under execution with affilaite Npi, Medical, regulatory , IP , Ops BD to de-bottle, resolve and ensure alignment across all stakeholders with respect to development and launch
    • Report I&D pipeline to EPD team in Basel along with forecast etc.
    • Working towards increasing I&D productivity and ensure that 50% of the NPIs throughput is from I&D
    • Roll the learnings and revised DRF process to ensure smoother implementation and execution of business case and development
    Process Global End 2 End NPI process
    • Drive , introduce and align EPD India NPI process with global NPI process through planisware implementation across all 4 affiliates
    • Periodic review of the process and improvements to be suggested and implemented along with EPD E2E admin and planis ware team
    • Work along with NPI teams and other stakeholders for smoother implementation of E2E process as per Class A.
    Other
    • Drive the EPD India Innovation Board process
    • Design and support the therapy area strategy. Identify therapy area gaps in portfolios of and deliver differentiated products through projects like MOONSHOT across all 3 affilaites in EPD India.
    • Drive Differentiation projects for all lead brands of all 4 affiliates which contributes to 60% of EPD India $ 900 MM sales.
    Support strategic initiatives driven out of EPD Strategy and Business Development team (including strategy plans for a 3-5 year horizon, portfolio optimization, and process improvement projects)Supervisory/Management Responsibilities:Direct Reports: NILIndirect Reports: NILPosition Accountability/Scope:
    • The role will report to the Director New Products Introduction, EPD India, and work closely with his direct reports.
    • The position is based in the Corporate Office, Mumbai. However, the position might require travelling to different countries across emerging markets as per business requirement
    Education:
    • Post-Graduation from a top tier school in India
    Experience/Training Required:
    • 8-10 years of total experience in BD/NPI /portfolio management in a mid size to large pharma company of 200-500 MM also with commercial experience in formative years.
    • Proven networking and execution capability
    • High commercial acumen
    • Extensive network in the industry with TPMs / Global
    • Good presentation skills
    • Ability to work in a matrix structure and deliver results
    • Candidate should have demonstrated working ability with senior leadership team with a strong skillset for clear communication and driving impact focus during projects.
