Senior Software Engineer - Site Reliability EngineeringLocation Remote AustraliaPosting date 9 minutes ago(1/8/2021 6:22 AM)Job ID 83678 Category Software Engineering Job summary The Red Hat OpenShift Service Delivery team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer focused on Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) to join us remotely in Australia. In this role, you will work as part of a team that hosts, develops, and manages Microsoft Azure Red Hat OpenShift, which is a new offering in partnership between Microsoft and Red Hat. Youll be working in a fast-paced environment with the goal of making our offerings more effective with every release for the end users and customers. Successful applicants must reside in a country where Red Hat is registered to do business. Primary job responsibilities

  • Manage, deploy, and operate cloud solutions at scale using the principles of SRE
  • Work closely with engineers on Red Hat OpenShift to become a contributor to both the upstream and downstream Red Hat OpenShift projects to deliver functionality
  • Partner with engineers at Microsoft to review code, build features, and implement solutions
  • Interact with multiple teams within Red Hat and with the open source community
Required skills
  • Demonstrated experience with Go or Python programming languages
  • Experience with cloud service provider offerings like Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Experience operating Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift, Docker, Podman, or other container tools in a production environment
  • Experience developing for and administering Linux
  • Great written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and follow industry trends
  • Ability to work on your own and as part of a team
The following are considered a plus:
  • Experience working in an SRE position for a cloud-based company
  • Experience working with distributed architectures, e.g. microservices or service-oriented architecture
  • Experience implementing monitoring solutions
