Job Description

SummaryThe Digital Platform Technology Team provides developers with the essential components and infrastructure necessary for creating modern Digital applications.As an engineering lead for our core search platform, you will be responsible for the design, development and delivery of innovative solutions with a high degree of engineering integrity. Responsibilities include modernizing the search experience, providing integrated solutions involving index/query pipelines, information retrieval, relevancy signals, autocomplete, synonyms, fuzzy search, incorporating at the enterprise scale and across complex datasets.You will be required to demonstrate technical curiosity, an interest in making hands-on contributions across different technology domains, and the ability to create solutions that software developers enjoy using.Required Experience:

  • Front- and back-end development using Java/Spring Boot and either Python or Go
  • Developing for a microservices-based architecture
  • Knowledge and experience working with large-scale Search technologies, such as Solr and ElasticSearch
  • Serverside developer to build and deliver solutions to external/internal users supporting business capabilities around Search. Will be engaged with various stakeholders ( across business, UX, product, tech, etc)
  • Possess framework mindset, in terms of building components/libraries that can be easily ported/integrated/upgraded with minimal effort by various applications
  • Accountability for the full software development lifecycle from requirements through delivery
  • Implementing software development best practices
  • Defining and implementing non-functional requirements that support engineering integrity
  • Optimizing solutions for the developer experience
  • Communicating technical concepts to audiences of varying technical experience
  • Technical curiosity; ability to identify and assess new technologies
Preferred Experience:
  • Analysis and build within Control, Stability, Resiliency, Capacity & Performance areas
  • Proactively look to develop, implement and further development best practices across the group
  • Strong written and verbal communication as well as strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Application performance tuning and troubleshooting
  • Participate in analysis of data stores and help with data analytics
In addition, this role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
  • Expertise in application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines
  • Advanced knowledge of architecture and design across all systems
  • Knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices
  • Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals
