Calypso Technology is seeking a highly motivated and innovative Software Engineer to join our team. This is a ground floor opportunity to join a new team of software architects and engineers that will work collaboratively to maintain and extend Calypsos leadership in the capital markets. You will be hands - on , working side by side with your team across the full development life cycle while you build expertise both in the capital markets domain and in our market leading solution. The Calypso system is the world leader , providing an enterprise - scale platform with targeted solutions across the capital markets , including treasury , asset management , back office , risk , and trading. Responsibilities Design , develop and implement new features to enhance Calypso s market - leading solutions. Extend and maintain server - side business logic using modern , industry - standard technologies. Engage with clients and product management to support and scale Calypso s existing solution portfolio. Troubleshoot time - critical issues for multi - threaded business processes in an n - tiered architecture. Help promote clean design , development and coding practices across the global engineering organization. Contribute to the R&D , design , development , and testing of the next generation product. Collaborate with your team in an aggressive , agile environment focused on continuous delivery and learning. Required Minimum 3 years of post - academic experience in commercial software with significant and demonstrated experience leveraging Java for business domain logic. Excellent object - oriented analysis , design and development skills , including test - driven development (TDD). Experience with profiling and performance enhancement of distributed and multi - threaded systems. Working knowledge of relational databases , including RDBMS setup and tuning experience (Oracle / Sybase). Familiarity with open source frameworks ideally including: Spring , Hibernate , Spring MVC , Spring JDBC , ActiveMQ and/or Apache Camel. Experience with application servers (JBOSS) and software tools such as Eclipse , Gradle , and git Excellent communication skills.
