Job Description

Sr R&D Test EngineerJob Locations IN-MumbaiRequisition ID 2020-56027 Category Research & Development Whats the role SUMMARY OF JOB In this role the successful candidate will work with software developers and product management to ensure successful development and deployment of key systems and solutions overall. As a Software Development Engineer in Test, this role will have a breadth of knowledge and success in conducting functional and fault tolerance testing as well as the ability to comprehend requirements, complete work in a timely manner and communicate information effectively.MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with development teams to develop test plans and test cases.
  • Develop testing approach using automated testing techniques.
  • Setup and configure testing tools to gather test results.
  • Preparing data in support of full testing life cycle
  • Conduct System Smoke, Regression and Stress testing, Integration testing to ensure system reliability, capacity and scalability.
  • Analyze root causes of issues and provide corrective actions.
  • Conduct job trainings and provide assistance to other Test Engineers as needed.
  • Suggest new tools and techniques to improve testing efficiency.
  • Run manual tests wherever necessary.
  • Review and recommend improvements to existing test procedures.
  • Log defects as needed and participate in triage process.
  • Analyze test results to determine next steps and to provide development teams with recommendations.
  • Generate test summary reports for management review.
  • Testing includes:
    • Update Testing process documents
    • Create Test Plan documents
    • Work with development teams to define Use Cases
    • Create manual test cases using Zephyr JIRA plug-in
    • Execute manual test cases
    • Create defects in JIRA
  • Automated Testing includes:
    • Create and Update automated Continuous Integration framework
    • Create and execute automated Integration test scripts
    • Create and execute automated E2E test scripts
EnvironmentPerforms day-to-day activates to meet departmental/project objectives. Requires immoderate supervision. Applies commonly recognized concepts within their field of expertise. Shares knowledge with less experienced peers or have high collegial interaction. Acts with independence and discretion in routine matters. Who are you POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelors Degree in a technical discipline
  • 5+ years of development and/or test automation experience
  • Working experience in automated testing using Cucumber, Jbehave, JUnit/TestNG, Selenium etc
  • Working knowledge of RESTful APIs ,XML, JSON, network programming and message exchange systems
  • Must be a team player, should be able to get along well with others
  • Great communication skills (including active listening and comprehending requirements)
  • Knowledge of agile development techniques such as BDD, TDD, Pair Programming, Refactoring, Continuous Integration
  • Knowledge of Configuration Management tool (e.g.,Git, Gerrit, Subversion or CVS)
  • Self-taught and self-teaching, with a demonstrated aptitude for acquiring knowledge and skills
  • Deep knowledge of test methodologies and debugging
  • Knowledge in any of these Test Automation Tools, Robot Integrated Development Environment (RIDE), JMeter, SOAPUI, HP Quick Test Pro
  • Proficient in Java, C++ or C with scripting skills in at least one common language (Perl, Python or Shell)
  • Proficient in a Unix/Linux environment.
  • Knowledge of AWS components, working with highly scalable systems using Storm, SPARK, FLINK
  • Experienced in working with SPLUNK, KIBANA.
  • Experience testing large structured data sets
