This in turn helps us to provide better support to our broad client base.The Role ResponsibilitiesStrategyAs a Technical Manager

  • The primary goal is to design & develop the robust, reliable & scalable solution.
  • Code the assigned module(s) based on the technical design and coding standards so as to deliver defect free output.
  • Perform documentation of the code changes and unit test result using SDF framework so as to maintain an audit trail of the changes.
  • Conduct unit testing based on the technical design/functional design in a way that is comprehensive and verifies accuracy of developed features.
  • Participate in design discussions for acquiring better understanding of the product and domain. Prepare detailed design in accordance with requirements and platform specifications.
  • Participate in requirements collation, clarification and analysis in order to evaluate impact and effort estimate and translate into a design document.
  • Provide clarifications to the quality control team on the requirements and modifications done so as to facilitate their testing.
  • Guide junior resources to develop & deliver the solution.
BusinessProviding service to Team (Squad)
  • Help in assessing the impact, arriving effort & cost estimation for a given work.
  • Supports the Team (squad) to overcome the technical challenges.
  • Ensure the technical design agreed is developed / delivered.
  • Execute a plan and deliver the product / solution on time.
  • Manage the processes of decomposition and task estimation, finding dependencies with other Squads and updating backlog in the production system
  • Ensure adherence and continuous improvement of Agile practices, coaches and teaches new techniques to the Team as needed to achieve optimum productivity
  • Create and maintain an atmosphere of safety, collaboration, trust through facilitation of retrospectives and fostering a honest feedback culture among members
  • Remove obstacles and impediments to the Team s (Squads) progress, and escalates as required

  • Review team structure and capacity plans
  • Review team s skill matrix and groom the team technically to meet the business expectation.
Risk Management
  • Raise all issues and risks to the required Technology and FCC Governance Forums
  • Understanding of Screening best practice risk management techniques and frameworks
  • Group Sanctions Policy and Group Screening Standards
Governance
  • Ensure all the deliverables meet the quality standards as defined in the Software Development Framework (SDF), Data Quality Management Framework (DQMF) and Operational Risk Framework (ORF)
Regulatory & Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Lead the GNSRT Squads to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank s Conduct Principles : [Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Financial Markets; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment.] *
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
Key Stakeholders
  • Engage key stakeholders across upstream Business and Technology areas, Legal and Compliance Technology and Financial Crime Compliance and Risk; Platform Teams, etc

  • Experience in Agile delivery (specific Scrum Master experience preferred)

  • Self-assured, with the confidence to be the voice of reason & authority while maintaining a focus on Servant Leadership
  • Conflict resolution skills
  • Robust domain knowledge in order to understand Squad goals and output
  • Promotes innovative thinking and self-development, is willing to try new things in the interests of improvement
  • Strong organizational abilities while remaining flexible and persistent.
  • Desirable certification such as CSM (Certified Scrum Master) or PSM (Professional Scrum Master)
Relevant Experience
  • 8 to 10 years

  • Java EE, Spring, Spring MVC, Hibernate, Oracle, PLSQL, Solution Design, UML, API, Spring Boot, JAX-RS, JAX-WS & Microservices
  • Web Development (HTML, JavaScript, Angular JS / React JS etc)
